The No. 6 Nebraska volleyball team (16-3, 10-0 Big Ten) faces its second of three straight top-15 opponents this Wednesday, Oct. 27 with No. 3 Wisconsin (17-1, 9-1) at the Devaney Center. First serve is set for 8 p.m., and the match will be televised on BTN and streamed via its digital extension on the FOX Sports app with Larry Punteney and Salima Rockwell on the call. The match closes a two-match homestand for the Huskers.
This week's action will be carried on Huskers Radio Network with the NU radio team of John Baylor and Lauren Cook West. Baylor is in his 28th season handling play-by-play duties for the Husker volleyball program, and West, a former All-America setter at NU, will provide color commentary for the sixth straight year.

Kubik Making Noise
Madi Kubik has led the Huskers in kills in 10 straight matches to open the conference slate with a season-high 19 at Northwestern, 15 vs. Iowa, 11 vs. Michigan, 10 vs. Michigan State, 19 at Penn State, 11 at Rutgers, 16 vs. Indiana, 19 vs. Illinois, 13 at Iowa and 15 vs. Purdue.
Kubik has the conference lead for kills per set in Big Ten play. Kubik has improved from hitting .197 with 2.19 kills per set in non-conference to .267 with 4.48 k/s in the last month. When Kubik has double-digit kills, the Huskers are 13-0 this year.
Movin' On Up
- Nicklin Hames moved up to third all-time at Nebraska for career assists last Wednesday and passed the 4,000 assists milestone on Saturday. She now has 4,040, which makes her just the third Husker in school history -- and the second in the rally-scoring era -- to reach the mark. Hames joins the company of Fiona Nepo (4,824 from 1995-98) and Kelly Hunter (4,125 from 2013-17).
- Hames owns 1,158 career digs and is three away from passing Annika Albrecht (1,160 from 2014-17) for ninth both all-time and in the rally-scoring era.
- Hames also has 104 career aces -- five away from passing Jennifer Saleaumua (108 from 2002-05) for fifth in the rally-scoring era. Hames is 15 away from breaking into the top 10 all-time in school history and tying Allison Weston (119 from 1992-95) for 10th on the all-time aces list.
- Lauren Stivrins sits at 1,141 career kills, which ranks 18th at NU. Her next target is Stephanie Thater (1,158 from 1989-92) at 17th.
Scouting Wisconsin
Wisconsin is 17-1 (9-1 Big Ten) and carries a nine-match win streak into Wednesday's contest. The Badgers beat back-to-back Top 15 opponents last weekend, first taking down No. 6 Ohio State on Friday, 3-1, followed by No. 14 Penn State on Saturday, 3-2.
The Badgers rallied from a 2-1 deficit against Penn State, and Dana Rettke finished with 24 kills on .512 hitting to lead Wisconsin. Julia Orzol added 19 more kills, and Devyn Robinson had 11 kills and 10 blocks. Sydney Hilley finished with 65 assists and 18 digs.
Hilley leads the Big Ten with 12.30 assists per set, while Izzy Ashburn is second with 0.51 aces per set. Dana Rettke is third for both hitting percentage (.457) and blocks per set (1.35). The Badgers are tied with Nebraska for the lowest opponent hitting percentage in the conference (.146).
Kelly Sheffield is in his ninth season and owns a record of 220-51 at Wisconsin and a career mark of 493-163 over 21 years as a head coach.

Nebraska leads the all-time series with Wisconsin 19-8-1, including 9-7 in the John Cook era and 8-6 as Big Ten peers. NU has a 10-2 advantage at home in the series.
The Badgers have won five straight in the series. The most recent meeting was Dec. 14, 2019 in the NCAA Regional Final in Madison, Wisconsin, which the Badgers won 3-0.
Nebraska and Wisconsin last played in Lincoln on Oct. 5, 2019, when the Badgers won, 3-0. The Huskers' last win in the series was Sept. 30, 2017 at the Devaney Center in five sets.
