Maryland is promoting former coach John Szefc's longtime assistant coach Rob Vaughn as their next head baseball coach. (Szefc left earlier this month to take the head coaching job at Virginia Tech.)
Vaughn came to Maryland with Szefc prior to the 2013 season; he had previously been a volunteer assistant under Szefc for two years at Kansas State. Vaughn served as associated head coach this past season.
