Anytime I see a husker player’s name only in the title I worry that it’s going to be an injury or something.

This was a nice surprise. :)

Well he is only using 30's. We have a lot of our posters that would be using at least 50's for this exercise if not 60's.

Every single time...it always cracks me up!

We also need the Form Police to chime in and complain about something that he is doing wrong.

Not me. I work with a guy that played O-tackle for UNO and the Beef for many years. I was at the gym one day working up a lather with some 20 pound dumbbells. He walks in, all 320 pounds of him, and walks all the way to the end and picks up the two biggest ones they had (100? 120?) and just starts ripping away on them like he was angry with them. He said he needed to warm his arms up before he started doing any real lifting. He is the same guy who picked me up suplex style one day when I was messing with him. He held my 170 pound frame upside down over his head for several seconds before letting me back down. I am glad he is on my side. Dude is a tank.

Hopefully he is putting on the right type of weight to “enhance” his play on the field as an offensive specialist...not detract from it. Winking

WIth 2AM the added weight and muscle seemed to slow him up and hurt his game. Hopefully not the case here. This kid looks like a beast, ready to run through brick walls head first.

That dude would beat my ass into dust, but I use 40s for that. He was obviously not maxed out. Probably his cool-down routine after lifting and rotating houses on their foundation just for fun.

Seriously, have we ever had a true freshman come in that is this ripped?

Dan did fumble a lot, but he was a beast. I would say Imani Cross was the last RB here with those kind of guns.

Well the workouts are all great and everything BUT what actually matters is the play on the field during gameday. I remember how not all that long ago the short JUCO WR Williams was all the talk for what he could do in the weight room and then he was no where with his play on the field. Not saying Scott is going to follow that path but we need to see what he does on the field for us.

May sound overly cautious but that's what a few bad seasons do for you.

Williams was athletic in a track and field type of way. Football takes brute strength and this dude obviously has it. Thats a pretty good starting point.

For those who don't know, Scott III has been a competitive weight lifter for years prior to coming to NU.

In college I would do one of my curl sets at 35, another at 30 and the last at 25, each a different type of curl. But I sure as hell didn't look like that.

Scott will be ready to play this year unless he struggles with the playbook. He's one you have to make sure doesn't bulk up too much. With his build he could probably bench cars, he looks pretty short-armed.

fwiw.. Curling 30's with alternating Isometric holds is more than adequate to build biceps, no matter what your size. Biceps are a relatively small muscle and mostly what comes from moving big weight on a dumbbell curl is terrible form (moving the elbow in front of the body and under the weight) and lots of momentum "lifting" which all results in putting less than ideal tension on the bicep/weak contractions=little to no muscle growth.

Yet somehow dudes in prison with basically the most basic weights and bars...are able to get huge and buff while getting about 60 minutes of gym time and no extra protein or supplements.

My first thought was Ahman, because he was pretty cut but not to this level. Was Janovich really that much of a specimen?
