Just curious, are there any guys (still alive, that is) who played in the Marlin Briscoe Flag Football League in the early 70s. I played with a group of knuckleheads (actually some good footballers) from Western Electric. I remember playing one year (went into the USCG in 1972 after being laid-off from Western Electric in October 1971) in the league and was amazed by the quality of play. I remember playing against Roger Sayers (the really fast Sayers guy) and two former Huskers, Al Larson and Mel Brichacek (I think spelling is correct)--my memory is fuzzy but I think it was these two guys and they played on the same team. The point is it was a lot of fun and I learned a lot from some guys that had been around the block.
Again, just curious if anyone else played in the league and what interesting stories, if any, you could share...
