Nebraska Head Coach Mark Manning earned Terry McCann Freestyle Coach-of-the-Year honors, announced by USA Wrestling on Sunday. Manning takes home the award for the second time after winning it in 2011.

Manning, who finished his 16th season at Nebraska in 2015-16, serves as the coach for four-time Olympic/World champion Jordan Burroughs (74 kg) as well as 2015 World bronze medalist James Green (70 kg). Burroughs and Green also had decorated careers at Nebraska, as Burroughs won two national titles and Green collected four All-America accolades.

Manning played a pivotal role last weekend in helping Burroughs earn a spot on the U.S. World Team for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2012, Manning was an Olympic coach for the U.S. Men’s Freestyle team, where he helped Burroughs win the gold medal.

Since taking over the Husker program in 2000, Manning has produced the most wins by a coach in program history with 212. He has coached 42 All-Americans, four of whom won the national title, at Nebraska. Manning has led the Huskers to seven top-10 team finishes and was named Dan Gable Coach of the Year in 2009 after guiding NU to the Big 12 team title.
