247 Sports is showing a "Favorite" lean for Manuel Allen to Nebraska. If you've been paying attention to how their Crystal Ball works, you'd know that "Favorite" is the highest and rarest prediction they offer; it virtually means a lock.

We also are the heavy favorites to land Radley-Hiles, Grahm Roberts, and Mario Goodrich, while Calvin Avery is showing increased interest that may start showing a lean towards us after the Spring Game if things go well.

So, that's 4 extremely elite recruits and 1 "solid" RB recruit, all of whom show significant leans to Nebraska (except Avery, but that may change as stated above).

Anyone have any other info to add on any other recruits coming in and the rumors around them? Just focusing on the above, it's a really amazing level of talent we look like we may land in the 2018 cycle, which makes me happy and stuff.

HUGE weekend for the program. Hope to see 70K+ there on Saturday. GBR

247 crystal ball system is kind of a joke IYAM. A couple weeks ago Nikko Allen announced he was going to announce his commitment a week or two later and Michael Bruntz put in a CB for him to UCLA. Then a day or two later, Allen gave his favorites and UCLA wasn't one of them and he changed it to USC. So, if Allen commits to USC, his % correct will go up even though he was originally wrong. These guys should be made to keep their original prediction so we can see who is more accurate and not who flip flops the most. There are guys over there to pay attention to (Steve Wiltfong) but it's no different than to know who to listen to here either.

Hall attempted to commit to Cali schools and they didn't take his commit, now off to NU and MSU...Not certain he is a take right now for us either and would be a late flip candidate if a Cali school has room down the road.

247 predictions get a lot more accurate around December

Thanks Captain Obvious. They are Even more accurate in late January and early February.

This just in.....Picking the winner of a game is a whole lot more accurate when you select a team late in the 4th quarter than when you select a team before the game starts.

I think any predictions or even commits to Nebraska are irrelevant right now. 2017 will be a very interesting season for Mike Riley. If he can go at least 8-4, I think he has a great chance of sticking around and really killing it with the 2018 class.

However, if Nebraska loses 6 games or more, I think he will be gone... And this recruiting weekend will be a moot point.

I always enjoy the accuracy of your posts. With our schedule, many believe the 8-4 would be a good record. Some fans seem poised to enjoy 6-6; and will throw rocks at you and others here. From my limited abilities, but intense view, I really believe our D is poised to be top 20, maybe even this year. This could really rescue this team. ..... We all get an inept O could really hurt the D statistically; but I really appreciate the D coaches and their potential to turn it quickly and see the times they have done it in the past. But you were point on about momentum effects on recruiting. I am excited about last years class, but a few more victories would have really brought it home; probably 22 or more

Maybe I am just the eternal optimist , I expect no less than 8 wins. However my gut tells me Reilly is safe as long as we get to a bowl but this is the last pass he would get.

I think we definitely go 5-0 to start the year. I have broad shoulders and thick skin.

If Eich is still here, Riley will be here (unless he has a losing season). HUGE weekend for recruiting. Let's show these kids the passion and open some eyes! I'm excited to see the new changes on both sides of the ball.

GBR

Lmao chill out. Sheeeesh.

This year's recruiting is looking better than the last class opportunity wise. Considering that lock Fitzpatrick and lock Calvin both committed late to other schools, I'll wait for a commitment, and preferably signing.

6 win prediction models and retaining coaches are bridges to cross at a later date for me.

I don't see how we fire a well respected head coach after 3 seasons, especially considering the situation he walked into. I have no inside knowledge but that just doesn't seem like a wise decision. You can't overhaul a roster and make large changes in philosophy that quickly

"the situation he walked in to" ?????

Hate to shed a little reality, but he has yet to have a season equal to the worst season of the last regime!

This fired crap gets so stupid and gets dragged out. My God! Firing Riley hasn't been in my mind in any sense for a bit now. Hes just now finally getting a chance to run his type of offense this year, first time since hes gotten here. Theres no freaking chance he gets fired this year, unless we have a dumpster fire season where we win 4 games or less.

As long as progression shows and the team improves throughout the season, he will be here next year for sure. Hes made some fires and great hires. He will get his chances with his type of players for a few years before firing him becomes even an option. Put down the pitch forks guys and gal, dam ;)
