"We're better at receiver right now than we have been since I've been here." -Scott Frost
Saturday was the 13th straight game where we didn't try to throw the ball downfield. It was one game where we didn't even try to throw the ball downfield in order to try to limit turnovers. In case anyone didn't notice, our whole game plan revolved around limiting mistakes and turnovers. I don't think our receivers are near as bad as we think, neither is our pass rush or our DB's, just because they didn't look good against one of the best teams in the country.

It was the first game this year. Ohio State can make even good teams look bad. I'd like to see another game or two before we declare we have the worst receiver group in college football.Saturday was the 13th straight game where we didn't try to throw the ball downfield.
maybe even more than that, honestly.
if it were 1 game, I would agree. it's not.
to the defenseTanner Lee threw a beautiful deep ball.
Use to love the bombs they threw to Frosty Anderson back in the 70's.
Wow, serious?!?Saturday was the 13th straight game where we didn't try to throw the ball downfield.

No. 60% of statistics are made up on the spot.Wow, serious?!?
they can and they should.
Manning needs to be out there regardless of practice time. again, he has what cannot be coached: massive size and great ball skills.
I don't care if he practices once in his time at NU. neither should any of his teammates or coaches, so long as he produces on Saturdays.
keep whatever issues may arise in house. if he turns out to be no good during games, then feel free to move on.
The whole "no block,no rock" mantra is crap. If you are going to plkay wrs that are great blockers then start running the option.
Would’ve guessed 75 or 80 in here but that’s just meNo. 60% of statistics are made up on the spot.
There are three kinds of people — those who believe in data and those who don't.No. 60% of statistics are made up on the spot.
Our blocking was horrible last year, even from the receivers. The thing is we shouldn't have to choose. We need to get and coach receivers who can both block and get open. The whole "no block,no rock" mantra is crap. If you are going to plkay wrs that are great blockers then start running the option.
There were times last year JD didn’t even try and block. And it just killed some drives. Yes he put up some yards but he was a major part of 4-8 4-8 and 5-7.Our blocking was horrible last year, even from the receivers. The thing is we shouldn't have to choose. Tanner Lee threw a beautiful deep ball.
the obvious response to that is "prove it then".
True story. When Jarvis Redwine played he had no clue about the playbook. In the huddle they would call the play for the rest of the team and then tell Redwine what to do. That came from a friend who played at least 50% of the snaps on offense for us that year.Just yell "go deep" and point.
Dude made it work tho huhTrue story. When Jarvis Redwine played he had no clue about the playbook. In the huddle they would call the play for the rest of the team and then tell Redwine what to do. That came from a friend who played at least 50% of the snaps on offense for us that year.
blazing speed. He drove campus in a tricked out Datsun 280Z as I recall. Gold chains around his neck and IF I remember correctly the gold package on the car. Fuzzy dash? Pimped to the max.Dude made it work tho huh
He thinks he's NFL ready or arena ball?Antonio Brown. Who gives a crap if he practices or attends class. Just put him in the game. He will be here this year only so who cares.
Arena ball would be a major step up for any of our receivers. He thinks he's NFL ready or arena ball?
His head.So do we know what kind on nagging injury Omar Manning has been dealing with?
I get out of kick of Neb fans. Thought Speilman would leave early to be an early draft pick and that Robinson will be an early round draft choice - “he’s just that good”. Neither did or will happen. Robinson is Dana Brinson (At best) 36 years later. Is he good? Yes. Is he great? No. Just like Speilman he’s just the best Neb has right now. In the scheme of college football he’s not even on the radar of the best in the conference let alone All American talent. Damn. We used to have AA talents every year. Sigh...Well the whole WR corp is a mystery to me.
