I was thinking about what I would look for in a coach and that led me to wonder what was the prior experience before coming to DONU of one of our best teams. I picked '95 essentially at random. I was very surprised at how little experience (or none at all) most of those coaches had before coaching here. Even Dr. Tom only had 2 years as an unpaid assistant before being hired as Offensive Coordinator! Can you imagine the uproar if that happened today! Obviously many things have changed since the 1960's and 70's when many of these guys were originally hired but I thought it was interesting. I think its pretty easy to see how TO's experience as HC informed his decision making on coaching hires. (Sorry - don't know how to format)
