Not sure what else needs to be said. We are 1/3 with silent commits this year. That's not a great percentage.

We've had silent commits every year I can remember that ended up signing elsewhere. So I'm not sure why anyone gets excited about them anymore.

We're now 2/4 with silent commits, stay tuned in March...

The whole issue about "locks" and "silent commits" is very easy to parse. A commit is only a "lock" when he is "locked-in" as a silent commit, that is, a committed silent commit. Dez was not "locked-in," but he was a silent commit. In these cases one's silence speaks volumes as to the nature of the commitment, especially once he goes elsewhere, as then it is clear that he was not "locked-in." In the other case we know that a player is a silent commit and a "lock" once he actually signs with that team. ;)
