Segment 1
Segment 1
- Jessica Coody stepping in for Greg tonight to interview Trev Alberts.
- Trev said the volleyball program stands for everything Nebraska is about. He called this arguably John Cook's best coaching job to get this team to peak at the right time. Alberts added it was great for the Big Ten to have such a stage.
- Trev joked the Husker fans were so strong in the championship game, the Husker Power chant actually took over the in-house DJ trying to do a bit.
- Both John Cook and Terry Petit have played a big factor in helping grow the sport of women's volleyball nationally.
- Alberts said "that team chose to be great" and be all-in and love each other. He used the Lexi Sun situation as an example.
- Omaha will host the Final Four next year, which is very exciting with the group Nebraska returns.
- Trev announced that Nebraska's Spring game will be April 9.
- That's a little earlier than usual, Trev said, because NU plans to replace the turf at Memorial Stadium.
- Trev admitted that Nebraska is "probably behind" in terms of fan experience at football games. A survey will go out to season ticket holders to improve the experience in January.
- Trev said the printed tickets for the 2021 season "are on their way" and should arrive to those who requested them soon.
- Trev said the 2022 football schedule is still being worked out. "I assume there will be some change" and it should be announced, "in the not too distance future."
- Trev said the additions of the new specialists showed how Scott Frost was prioritizing special teams, but didn't comment on whether there would be a full-time special coach hired. "I know what Coach Frost's plan is, and I think it's a very good plan."
- Alberts on finalizing Frost's staff: “I think he’s got a little bit more work to do in a specific area. But I think in general there’s common sense and logic to his thinking."
- Trev said there was a season ticket wait list for baseball for those interested. He said baseball tickets should be available soon.
- Trev said there were plans in the works to improve Haymarket Park, but wasn't ready to announce what those were yet. He said "that's in process" and "we're working on it."
- Trev's done. He didn't mention Nebraska men's basketball once during his hour.
