Lindsey Recruiting

Scenarios I've heard:

Bookie and Calvin

Calvin and Grimes

Calvin and Lewis (these two were on the same 7-7 team with him)

Any of the above would work for me personally...but the common thread seems to be Calvin...Bookie seems the least likely to me if the wording is literal.

I hope he brings Bookie with him, but I hope that's not who he is talking about. I'm selfish and want recruits this cycle!

It is possible that he means bringing people with him on his official visit. (Jan 27th) Not to be a downer....sorry.....I hope for the best....but figuring out what a teen means on twitter is difficult.

EDIT: My bad....it was an interview quote. That certainly is some good news if he delivers a few studs.

It really sounds like Bookie 100% wants to go where Tyjon goes, and I thought I read Bookie was going to announce early, this July, for 2016?

I am strongly leaning towards him referring to Calvin (he was tweeting at him yesterday too about it), and then perhaps 1 other. Im not sure who that would be though? Who is this Grimes guy I keep hearing about?

Also keep in mind that unless Joseph Lewis wants to come here, I don't think we're taking more than 1 more WR. And as it is, we only have about 6 spots left, one of which needs to be Damion Daniels as a DT. Any thoughts on the remaining 4-5 (4 if we say Calvin or some other elite WR comes here)?

1-OL: Walker
1-TE: Radfal or Robinson
2- DB: Leonor, Olawkamdi(sp?), Kurl, Johnson
1-DT: Danniels
2-WR: Calvin, Grimes, Holmes, Hawkins

Take no matter what: Lewis, Shelvin, Beal

Does that look about right? Anyone missing?

Randall Grimes is a 4* 6'4" WR out of Vegas that is a USC commit who popped into Lincoln on the down low for an OV this weekend. The Trojans "strongly" suggested he not make the trip. If he came anyway, suggests he should be on flip watch IMO.

1-OL Walker - Yup, if we can flip him away from Wyoming.
1-TE: Radfal or Robinson - I think Rafdal is our guy.
2- DB: Leonor, Olawkamdi(sp?), Kurl, Johnson - Maybe? Lenoir keeps making Oregon noise. Thing is, I think we only take 1 DB in this cycle.
1-DT: Danniels - We need him BAD.
2-WR: Calvin, Grimes, Holmes, Hawkins - I say yeah to Calvin and MAYBE 1 other, but I would also contend that we don't need more than 4.

Totally agree on Lewis, Shelvin, and Beal. Particularly Shelvin with Diaco's fondness for a 3-4. Shelvin is like, 370 pounds right now. He's a HOSS. He could play at NT as a freakin' freshman potentially, and thats BANANAS.

I don't know what they're feeding those kids at Bishop Gorman but we keep getting insane talent from that one particular high school, what's the deal?

IMG before IMG---private school in Vegas that is in the Top 5 nationally almost year in and year out, kids come from all over to play there. Although at Gorman, kids get you know, an actual education as well.

If we picked him up, he'd be our last WR unless Calvin reaaaaaally wanted to get back in, in my opinion. And picking he or both up would be the end of Lewis coming here. I mean, that's ok. I'll take a small army of 4 star talent over the chance for a 5 star possibly coming here.

Those 7 spots get us to 86---we can go higher if the coaches want...haven't gotten into attrition (mandated or otherwise) yet, the list above does get us there by one but there is a chance Ward is a sign and place. I believe they would take the RB that is in this weekend if wants to flip from Oregon (who is chasing USC commit Carr pretty hard right now). '18 is already a small class and the coaches don't want to go too deep into it for #s but they will to fulfill needs with the right guys.

Agree---I think the coaches already know Lewis' decision. I'd take Grimes in a hearbeat!

Get em here, never know when a talented reciever could make a killer defensive back.

So Bookie is bright; there should be an early signing period in place by then? I really feet the early signing period is going to help N. We will build a great foundation and be doubly competitive for others. Its really going to shine a light on the present day leaders who string guys along adjusting their roster. GBR

You dont worry abt '18 being a small class yet. We have no idea on injuries, attrition, etc. Thats why it is so important to fill each class.

I understand, that is why I wrote they will go into it for the right guys and to fulfill needs.

U see grimes tweeter after TL committed to us he is not coming here

FYI---people looking at Gorman, it has been a traditional feeder school for USC, Notre Dame and Oklahoma...we did pull Gates out of there, however.

And Ohio State went in their hard this year. Never know what could happen

Ya, Martel---that ironically TL pretty much delivered to them---and Garrett the DT.

Nebraska does have ties to Gorman through Dave Humm (alumni)---hope we keep pressing forward there.
