Let's all watch the Wisky-Minny game

I think we broke Wisconsin. They were up on #1 Oregon 13-6 in the fourth quarter less than two weeks ago.
Or did Penn State break them when they lost 28-13 or did Iowa break them when they lost 42-10?

The real answer is Alabama broke them when they injured Van Dyke.

It's really funny, seeing everyone try to justify Nebraska's win over Wisconsin as a great win against a tough team. I mean, is it great Nebraska finally gets to go to a bowl game? Sure, I guess that's something to be proud of, but beating Wisconsin this year is not a difficult task.

Have any of you (those that are saying these things) looked at the BIG standings lately? Rutgers, Wisconsin, and Minnesota are not anywhere close to the top of that list. Nebraska is right there with them.

It is one thing to have confidence, hope, and belief in your team to win, but to justify saying Nebraska's win against a clearly bad team (WI) was a big accomplishment and major sign improvement, because Wisconsin beat other clearly bad teams(Rutgers), and have one moral victory over a top team(Oregon) is just silly.
You're right JRich from the 1990's. Unless we are beating a top 10 team, we should handle all other successes with the same amount of emotions as Lutherans in church. Shame on us!

Oregon was still figuring themselves out on defense and Gabriel was still figuring things out on offense. Boise St is giving up about 25 pts a game against some very weak opponents. They will give up 35+ to any of the playoff teams (pick one, won’t matter which one) and there’s no way they’ll score enough against playoff caliber defenses. They’ll lose by 17-21 points and I don’t even need to know who they’re playing.
That's why they play the games. Northern Illinois had no chance against Notre Dame in South Bend, Vandy had no chance at home against Bama, Oklahoma had no chance at home against Bama but drilled the Tide by 3 touchdowns.

Oregon barely scraped by a shitty Wisconsin team 2 weeks ago, Ohio State barely beat a 6-5 NU team at home a few weeks ago. The season has been full of teams that have had tight fits against overmatched opponents.

Thats's what makes college football so much fun. When we get in a playoff scenario, reputations are put in the rear view mirror and the better teams are forced to actually win it on the field, not in the polls. Generally the class of the top programs win and the pretenders, Boise, Indiana, maybe the Big 12 champ get it handed to them.

Who wants to play a 2 loss Georgia team when they put it together? Both Carson Beck and Quinn Ewers of Texas have had subpar games, but it they suddenly get hot they can make it really tough on anybody. Oregon has had a great season, but they can be had by a couple teams. The Buckeyes are great on defense, but their offense is still suspect. All it takes is one bad day.

Every single team in the playoffs has weaknesses, where if they have a bad matchup, they can be beaten.

I think there are 6 teams that can win it all. Some of these top teams happen to have QB's with a history of turning it over, and that usually remains a constant. But when they don't turn it over, you got problems.

At no point did I say Boise was a threat to win it, or even win a first round game. But just assuming a higher ranked team is gonna win is not always a winning proposition.

It'll be fun when the matchups are finally announced and we can get into some game discussions. Obviously, the teams with the byes and those with home field advantage start with a leg up. It won't happen but can you imagine a Miami (Fla) matchup with Ohio State in Columbus on a 15 degree day? That would be fun to see.

For Nebraska, beating Wisconsin has been a difficult task. There were a few games where we definitely should have won and choked in the final minutes of the Fourth quarter. So yeah, it was like an At Last moment to become Bowl Eligible beating Wisconsin!
I understand the celebration of finally making a bowl game, but this Wisconsin team is not the same Wisconsin of old. I am talking about those that are justifying the defeat of THIS Wisconsin team as a quality win for Nebraska by trying to defend Wisconsin's poor performance it by saying things like we're said in this very thread, such as :

"I think we broke Wisconsin"

"Wisconsin did score 42 on Rutgers, which is pretty much an NFL team. They just haven’t physically or mentally recovered from the a$$kicking that we gave them last week."

"Wisconsin is feeling the pressure of being in a Rivalry Game"

Wisconsin is a bad team. Nebraska should have beat them and they did.

The issue is not celebrating the win.

It is denying Wisconsin's horrible performance all season just to prop up Nebraska's win to look better

Then others on here saying how great teams like Rutgers are since Wisconsin beat them, lol.

I have seen these posts.
Iowa sucks.

You mean like where Wisconsin took the #1 team in the country to the wire the week before Nebraska kicked their butt? Does that performance count the "all season" column?

22 year streak is gone
They still have an outside shot at making a bowl because they have a high APR ranking. But as of now, it doesn't look good for them because there likely will be enough teams with at least 6 wins to fill all the bowl slots.

Yes, it counts. They lost. Game was at Wisconsin and Oregon struggled. That one close loss does not change the fact that Wisconsin is BAD. It is just 1 game, and your post is just another example of what I was talking about by trying to make Nebraska's Wisconsin win look more impressive because Wisconsin had a moral victory against Oregon.

If Wisconsin hadn't been destroyed multiple times already this season, you may have some argument with that close loss, but that is just not the case. Today's game is more evidence of this. Or do you honestly think Minnesota is a really good team too?

Every time Wisconsin (and Iowa) beats Nebraska they think they’re beating 1995 Nebraska lol
