Other than potentially serving to placate the current roster the money could probably be better spent elsewhere in the coaching pool that would be more complimentary to Fickell’s strengths

Yesterday it sounded like a done deal, so where was all the smoke coming from? A well-orchestrated leak to the local press and a little added hometown pressure for Wisconsin’s favorite son to accept the offer on the table?

that was before Wisconsin blue-balled him. I'm sure he viewed himself as the coach-in-waiting set to increase his salary 5x over.
Maybe Leonhardt is waiting to see if Purdue job may open up if Brohm goes to Louisville now that Scott Satterfield is going to Cincinnati. I personally don't see Brohm moving, because the BIG and SEC are the best conferences.
