Leavitt leaves Colorado, for Oregon

Here's the Denver Post story:

Leavitt to Oregon

Colorado was paying Leavitt more than $500K per year and he probably got a bonus for making the PAC-12 championship game. But I think Colorado has some tough restrictions on multi-year contracts for assistant coaches, and Oregon apparently is offering four years and big dollars. This will be a big setback for the Buffs - Leavitt made big strides with that defense, despite having only so-so talent to work with.

Eight senior starters helps any defense, no matter how good the coach is. CU was bound to fall back to earth next year, losing so many seniors on defense and a senior quarterback.

I'm kinda wondering why Leavitt would leave a school with a NC trophy and Pac12 championship appearance for a school with no trophies and 4 wins last year :)
4 year contract that will make him the higgest paid coordinator ever in the Pac12

Be nice to people on your way up, you might pass them again on your way back up.

That guy has done it twice now. Made a program from scratch starting with a double wide trailer at USF, goofs up royally, then works his way back to this. Must be a very intelligent football mind.

I think you're mistaken about that NC trophy, think they got the other one:

the half loaf trophy!:D

If I remember correctly when he was at USF and they were good they followed him around for a day. Dude drinks like a 12 pack of pepsi every single day.
