Went back and watched part of the game last year. VV was an animal. He made a ton of plays, and I hope he can do the same this year. I think if our tackles play well, and our LBers are able to make the right reads on CJB we will be in good shape.
Our defense can do a good job on Iowa's run game - they will have to - cold day - Capt Kirk is going to run it all day. Still - I think Iowa gets around 20 points - they play field position well and Bethard converts 3rd downs with his arm and legs. The question is how much offense does Nebraska generate - especially if Tommy does what he does (put the ball up for grabs several times a game). If the O can score more than 20 without being a turnover machine - I think we'll like the results.
If you could tell me today how may turnovers each team has, I could almost guarantee who wins. With us that seems like the big variable. If the turnovers are even, I think we win by 3-6 points. If we lose that battle we lose the game.
Iowa has turned it over three times (total) in the last five games for what its worth. Fully realize NW, MD, MN, PUR, IND are not murderers row but still impressive for any college program
They were indeed, yet Jake Rudock was probably Nebraska's MVP. Man he was awful in that game.Went back and watched part of the game last year. VV was an animal. He was bad in the second half, but we don't win without Pierson-elThey were indeed, yet Jake Rudock was probably Nebraska's MVP. Man he was awful in that game.
Nebraska has held only three teams to 20 points or less (Rutgers, Illinois, South Alabama). Meanwhile, Iowa has scored at least 27 points in every game except at Wisconsin.
It's possible Nebraska will hold Iowa to 20 on Friday, but there's very little either fan base has seen on the field to indicate this will happen.

As Coach Mike Riley said today, both teams play very well in all three phases of the game.
IOWA OFFFENSE:
IOWA DEFENSE:
- Iowa has a balanced offense. Its 4,601 total yards are divided by 2,291 yards rushing, and 2,310 yards passing.
- Iowa has 33 rushing touchdowns, first in the Big Ten and fifth nationally.
- The Hawkeyes have scored 30-plus points in five straight Big Ten games for the first time in school history, including back-to-back 40-point outbursts the last two weeks against Minnesota and Purdue.
- Iowa has six touchdown drives over 90 yards and 18 touchdown drives over 75 yards.
IOWA SPECIAL TEAMS:
- Iowa has allowed seven rushing touchdowns; tying Michigan for No. 1 in the conference and fourth nationally.
- Iowa leads the Big Ten in interceptions (13), takeaways (21), and turnover margin (+11).
- Limiting big plays: Iowa has allowed 12 scrimmage plays of 30-plus yards. Only Michigan (11) has allowed fewer among Big Ten teams.
Experience seems to favor Iowa over Nebraska heading into the game. Iowa has 21 senior, while Nebraska has 18.
- Marshall Koehn’s 57-yard game-winning field goal vs. Pitt is the second longest in school history and the second longest in FBS this season.
- Iowa’s two-man punt team of Dillon Kidd (42.6) and Marshall Koehn (45.0) rank fourth in the Big Ten averaging 42.0 yards per punt.
- Desmond King averages 25.6 yards on KO returns (No. 2 in Big Ten) and 12.7 yards per punt return (No. 3 in the Big Ten).
IOWA LEADERSHIP GROUP has been a real difference for Iowa this year.
The University of Iowa football program has 16 players on its 2015 Leadership Group, including 13 seniors, two juniors, and one sophomore. The purpose of the group is to assist in formulating policies, and being involved in team decision-making matters regarding the upcoming season. Players are selected by a team vote. The seniors are OL Austin Blythe, RB Jordan Canzeri, DL Darian Cooper, FB Adam Cox, TE Jake Duzey, WR Jacob Hillyer, PK Marshall Koehn, DB Jordan Lomax, DENate Meier, DE Drew Ott, LB Travis Perry, FB Macon Plewa and WR Tevaun Smith. The junior class is represented by QBC.J. Beathard and RB LeShun Daniels, Jr., and LB Josey Jewell represents the sophomore class.
Kirk Ferentz did a great job post TaxSlayer debacle vs. Tennessee in naming C.J. Beathard the #1 signal calling, tweaking the Leadership Group and moving Iowa into a different practice schedule, which also took into account the game played on Black Friday. Iowa is now practicing on Monday, rather than Thursday and switched to Morning Practices in 2015.
They also moved into a state of the art practice facility, which as helped greatly contact between coaches and players. Everyone is together more.
Mike Riley will make progress at Nebraska. I think he will out perform the other first year coaches in the B1G West, ultimately.
peace

So your opinions are fact? Ironic. The difference this year is CJ there is no way Iowa would be 11-0 with Rudock at the controls Rudock was not a leader. Not all the players even liked him and the team had factions. Another major change 4 healthy RB who each bring something to the table some years Iowa was down to a 3rd or 4th option. A FB playing RB didn't help either. Let's get this thing teed up I for one am past tired of reading all the BS opinions and twisting of facts.
Like you suggest, I think I'll just wait til Friday.Take it to the bank
