LANGSDORF WTF

That was all on Tommy. The play was there but a terrible throw that Wilbon had no chance of catching.

Piss poor play call and even worse execution. How many times have we seen those kind of plays or jet sweeps get destroyed? Going right at Oregon is the best way to attack. And how about that defense, giving up a 50 yard play for a td???

The Rb was barely running...like he wasn't looking for the ball....That was a dumb play call in the first place....Throwing it backwards to a guy that barely plays.

I'm not really a Langsdorf fan, but I just can't imagine that pass is designed to be thrown backwards. Maybe it got blown up, maybe Wilbon took a bad angle - but if it's just an incomplete swing pass I doubt if we are having this conversation.

No kidding!!! He ought to know that TA can't make that simple throw in the flat.. Run the damn ball!!! Big swing in the game!!!

The thing is Tommy has never shown that he can make the simple throw in the flat and to keep that in your playbook anyway and call it with the fourth string RB coming in cold off the bench to catch it is reckless.

What is it about Nebraska coordinators and the need to always get cute?

That was my issue.

The play was blown up from the get go (which wasn't on TA). Bad decision by TA to try to go with it.

It was poorly executed but regardless of that the play itself isn't a great call with a short field. Plays like that work well with more field in front of you but once you're in a situation where the defense has less room to cover bad things can easily happen.

Coaches better figure out that if the Oregon defense is the weak link to their team, go right at them in the second half instead of sideway plays. Defense has to get to that qb a lot more in the second half.

Yeah I don't like the play call either, or Langsdorf's penchant for cuteness. But it took terrible execution to turn a simple incompletion into a total train wreck.
