I have a good feeling about the game overall but geez...he's an accurate passer and our secondary has not looked good
He isn't any better than what we saw Saturday. The question is whether or not he has any receivers that can play position and make the kind of catches as the kid from S. Bama. He good.I have a good feeling about the game overall but geez...he's an accurate passer and our secondary has not looked good
Probably not going to be at full force at linebacker. No inside news just reading the tea leaves from what is public. Bando is a real concern.Kayaa and Miami will get their yards but I don't see them running on us, rendering them one dimensional. If our offense can out up points, we will be fine...I think. It would also help to be full force at LB.

S Bama's QB really got rid of the ball quickly and accurately. Some of those throws couldn't have been thrown any better. I watched some of Miami's game and I wasn't all that impressed with his wideouts. They have some speed. Their O line got abused at times too. We'll see. No doubt Miami has more talent across the field than S Bama, but IMO S Bama's looked every bit as good as Kaaya. We'll see how it plays out. We can't let him stand back there and pick us apart but on the other hand he delivers the ball quickly so if we bring pressure we had better be able to cover long enough and well enough to prevent those big plays. I can take giving up some big pass plays like we did saturday as long as we keep them out of the end zone. I CAN'T take giving up long run after run because we're worried about a QB throwing up bombs and having a couple completed.Just my 2 cents but Brad is far better than the S. Bama QB, their receivers and OL are far superior to what S Bama fielded.

Oh....... Well I was trying to put a happy face on my expectations for Miami....Well I guess I will just watch the game with a bottle of Crown and see how much I need to make it look ok. Better yet they sent me home from the hospital with a big bottle of Oxycodone.FYI Miami`s top 2 receivers did not play but the word is they will against us.
I guess I was too fatigued still from an illness to watch individuals other than the obvious but it did sound like Newby made some plays for us at linebacker.I hope we have them all. They will be a good trio, although I liked what Newby brought to the table Saturday too.

Good to hear. He always seems like a good kid when he's interviewed and I kind of felt bad for him when he got beat out by a freshman. We're going to need him to play and play well this year.He played well in pursuit. Kid is a great athlete. I expect he and Young to split reps next week.

Banderas, Young, and Rose-Ivey will finally all be on the field at the same time.
This will change the way Nebraska pressures the QB.
If they can stop the run and get pressure, they'll be fine. I don't think they get pressure.
That #miami offense will have their way with NEB most of the gameI have a good feeling about the game overall but geez...he's an accurate passer and our secondary has not looked good

I agree with your concerns. My point is that Davie only covers ONE guy and HIS guy was the one doing most of the damage and made a couple of awfully tough catches. I have read concerns about Davie's ball skills expressed before. One on one jump balls are not his strong suit. I don't doubt that Miami has speed and talent, but I think most people are selling short how good that QB and that WRer played together. Their WRer used his body very well and the passes were placed perfectly. I just haven't seen enough of Miami's WRs to say that they have the same skills as S Bama's guy showed me. I know that you know that there is a helluva lot more to playing WRer than being fast and being able to make the easy catches. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Cheers. The fact is...he will be throwing to faster and more talented receivers. I'm very worried about our defensive backfield. Especially when our DLine generated very little pass rush against USA.
My point exactly about that particular WRer. Thanks.I will defend DingleFritz a bit. Magee is a former professional baseball player who had chances out of high school too play at every big time football program in the country. He was one of the more fundamentally skilled wideouts I've ever seen. Athletically, he was also extremely gifted. He is one of those no name guys who will go in the 2nd to 4th round of the draft and then play 10 years if he stays healthy.
That doesnt mean things will be easier vs. Miami. Quite the contrary.
