Just Punt on 1st Down

He's a loser. What other metric are you using?

It takes 22+ players on football...can't just judge on winning.

64% completion I would say is fine for a career so far. 4.7 ypc and 22 TD rushing I'll take for a QB. 31 passing TD to 20 INT isn't that great, also many fumbles. Needs to cut down on turnovers and he is more than capable of doing what we need.

All sarcasm aside, it could point to an effective strategy this year — play to the team's strength by NOT putting a turnover-prone QB to commit them, emphasize the running game, shorten the clock, play strong D and special teams, and win six games while looking like a poor-person's Iowa or Wisconsin. Gets us to a bowl and builds a little momentum, despite all the dreary-looking 20-14 and 17-13 games.

You mean win close games instead of losing them? How novel!
