We obviously need to run well enough to keep the Badger D honest. But our strength this game has to be a receiving group that is as close to full strength than they've been in awhile. Westy will be back, Zo is healthier, DPE must be more confident and we also have a couple of keepers in Reilly and Morgan. These guys are clutch receivers, run good routes and all can YAC. Wisconsin's pass D can be stressed by a well designed passing game plan. Hopefully "Good Tommy" is taking the trip with the team to Madison.
If we convert in the passing game, the running game should yield us enough to move the ball. But thinking we will hammer away on the ground is a recipe for a lot of three and outs. Use our weapons at WR and win the game.

Nebraska will have to have some success running the ball. What scares me a little about getting too pass happy is the outside guys for for Wisky are solid. Biegel and Watt are a bitch on the outside and both tackles have a bad wheel. Gates didn't play that well last week with that ankle. Utter is going to have to play his butt off. He seems to struggle with a true nose tackle right on him. Wisky's top tackler and best ILB is out so McNitt will probably get some more snaps than he has had all season.

So what does a well designed passing game look like? Give me some patterns, option routes, etc. Why are swings and screens going to be effective? Inquiring minds want to know. Tommy is the QB no matter if he is deemed good or not. If he is under pressure while trying to drop back we are in for a long day. I can't figure out where so many get the opinion that Tommy outside on the run is a good thing.

Would like to see some play action along with some swings and screens. That will keep the LB's honest and help open up the running game.

With a few of their good defensive players out their depth is thinner then normal. I would like to see some wr screens, swing passes, and outside runs to get their defense moving and hopefully wear them down.

Nope. Have to run run run. Does not matter if we score more points. It will be marked as a loss if we win by moving the ball through the air.

They play a 3-4. Not sure you meant to say "2 tackles" unless you mean the strong side end is 1. Which technically they could be if the backer is up on the shoulder of the o-tackle.

Purdue wrote the script for Wiscy on shutting us down by selling out against the run.

The screen game will definitely help this week with as active as their lbs are.
Take a few shots, just do it on 2nd and short.
