Josh Brown Cut by Giants

For the record hitting a women should only happen in self defense and then only to get yourself away. Abusing women is awful and I'm strongly against it. that said if anybody did this that had a regular job the worst that would happen to them is criminal and civil charges but would any employer fire their employee for it?
Saw a guy who was a washing planes for the military as a contractor get fired for it.
This is true for most jobs, but Brown, despite being a place kicker, is a public figure. His behavior is reported in the media and reflects on his employer. If a high profile business executive behaved as Brown is alleged to have behaved, he would probably be removed from his position. Obviously the Giants have every right to act as they see fit, but I have no sympathy for Josh Brown.
Read that article also. What struck me is she went through his emails and his personal journal knowing he was in counseling and splashed bits in a filing for everyone to see. It smells like she then told the reporter to look at the filing.
For the record, hitting a woman should NEVER haven.....congratulations to the VaGiants for doing the right thing.

I haven't seen anything that says that he physically struck his ex-wife. If he did, there would probably be criminal charges. There are other types of abusive behavior. Giants did the politically correct thing. Without knowing all the particulars of what happened leading up to a messy divorce case involving hundreds of thousands of dollars, I might suggest that publicly condemning a person might not be smart.
My initial thought when I heard "domestic violence" was to call him a POS, draw comparisons to Kaz, etc. The more I've read about it, if he's truly serious about getting help, rectifying his behavior, becoming a better person/father and, in his words, wanting to be a "voice of change, not a statistic," then I support him, albeit very cautiously.
TO BE CLEAR: Even if it's true that he never physically struck her, he was clearly abusive and needs plenty of professional help to defeat whatever demons fueled his terrible behavior. But again, if he's truly contrite and serious about his rehabilitation, then he deserves a second chance. Not necessarily in the NFL, but in life and the court of public opinion.
He'll have to earn it, though, and it certainly won't be a quick or easy process. Time to see what he's truly made of.
Lucky him. He'll have the opportunity to work a regular job that isn't so judgmental.
