Jerry finally whacks MM-Prime to the Boys?

Who "reported" that?

Either way, I'm starting to think they're both just trying to maximize the hype from this and there's no real possibility of it actually happening. But again, as has been stated over and over, you never know with Jerry Jones.
It was on the radio yesterday. Don’t remember which national station. Might have been on the NFL Sirius station.

Pete Carroll or Ben Johnson should be the correct answer, but likely Kellen Moore or a Lincoln Riley type. Someone that can be pushed around. Sark perhaps?

Lincoln Riley would be a better hire than most people will admit. Immediately elevates teams he joins and is a true QB whisperer.

Ben Johnson gives major Josh McDaniels vibes to me. His division is full of doormats, ne succeeds in a structure that was built for him, and is apparently demanding to be the the architect of whoever he joins. Dan Campbell has the leadership intangibles of 3 men, so I have serious doubts about the capabilities of the rest of his staff to succeed on their own.

Aaron Glenn is probably the most obvious "will be fired after 2 years" hot name of this cycle.

if you get beyond the glamour crap, prime is an old school coach who requires kids go to school or their arse is on the bench. i think he has the potential to succeed with dallas because he has credentials and would relate well with superstars. i hope jerry pulls the trigger. but if he does, i'm not sure his ego will stand the attention drift from himself to primetime. thus, he may just pass from ownership to legend state.

Yeah, or he sees it as a brighter spotlight. He's never been shy about getting big spotlight players so not sure how this would be much different. I could see in his mind it all generates headlines so he wins. He could see it as doubling his spotlight rather than splitting it in half. You never know with that old kook

Deion doesn't seem to be an NFL fit to me. The college game is more about attracting talent and motivating guys, and I can see how he fits there. NFL is a business. Salary cap, strategy, in-game calls, clock management, etc.
CFB is getting closer to the NFL . Roster caps obviously no salary ( NIL) cap yet . But you think is no strategy in- game calls and clock management in the College game?

Talent attraction is the biggest thing that Coach Prime brings. Of course the other stuff matters like the NFL, but the talent disparity is sooo much greater in the college game. That's where the competitive advantage lies.

I don’t think NFL players are as impressed by Deion’s flash as high schoolers and college transfers have been.

Eh, I could see that going both ways. I could also see him identifying really well with the players because he was one at the highest level and them respecting him for that. He could be great at team chemistry.

But it doesn't matter as long as Jerry's at the helm.

All the speculation about Deion to Dallas and Shedeur with him. Poor Shiloh nevers gets mentioned. Deion can probably get him as a UDFA.

Can you imagine how it would go in an NFL locker room if Neon Deion chose to throw bombs instead of run out the clock like he did at Colorado? And if he lost them the game? I’d kinda love to see that

I want to see it happen for many reasons. Mostly just so other teams can hold the cowboys hostage with Sheduer by raping them of draft capital.

Say what you like about Deion, but he isn’t dumb. Staying at CU would be better for his coaching career than going to the Cowboys would be. If he puts out another good season or 2 he will have chances to move up to a better college program or a better NFL organization than the Cowboys are. Seems to me that going to the cowboys would be a dead end.

90% of all coaching jobs are dead ends. Coaches are hired to be fired.

You're probably correct. That's maybe why people want him to go to daboys

That assumes a couple things. One, that maximizing his coaching career is something Deion cares about. Deion cares about maximizing Deion.

Two, that his teams will perform like 2024 despite losing a Heismann winner on both sides of the ball and top 5 NFL pick at QB. He commented this week on how he entered a team meeting, and that it felt different without Shedeur, Travis and Shilo.

The Cowboys provide a much bigger stage with more marketing opportunities. And he doesn’t have the risk of struggling at CU without his luggage.

He also owns a ranch in Texas.

Maybe Belichick set this up so that he could leave for an NFL head coaching job and his son would take over as head coach of UNC.

I think the risk of struggling will be there at any place. Yes, 2 top 5 draft picks on the same college team is very rare and there is a big risk things will go poorly next season for CU. Bunch of what ifs each scenario. In the end Deion will do as God tells him to do.
