Can't believe his Husker career is over. I still remember HTO posting about him when he decided to walk on to Nebraska and telling us all how good of a player he was going to be. Got that one right.

Just got done watching the 1st half. In on 2 special teams tackles, lead blocker on a TD, tough run for a first down, and a TD just before half. Riley is right that kid is a football player, and I think he will play on Sundays as a special teams specialist.

Last year I guessed AA to the Lions, so here's my guess for this year. Rathman signs a free agent deal with the 49ers, with the help (hopefully) of RB coach Tom Rathman putting a bug in their GMs ear. Good luck to him.

Still remember the front of those 49r helmets that had huskers on them.God those were great teams and what a backfield.

Gonna miss that guy. Personified "Husker". Hope we have someone in the wings, walk-on or scholarship...and continue to use him!

I don't think he was playing his best position either. Although he excelled at FB when they decided to start using him, I think he could have been a stud LB!

A guy like that with low miles on the tires that will do whatever is asked of him should get picked up, especially when coach Riley is vouching for him.

He was great. Very strong tough kid with some strong tough older bros. great wrestler too. He can block so he will get a shot at the NFL. Fullback is a tough road though and teams usually invite 2 to camp and either keep one or simply keep an extra TE instead. As mentioned special teams will help him land a spot and I think he is athletic and fast enough to pull it off. If he can I see him having a chance at a long career.

Wish Beck and Pelini didn't screw him over by not redshirting him at some point (barely played in 2013 and 2014.)

Riley and staff would love him back for one more year no doubt.
I was at the Husker/Wisconsin game where the Huskers made a crazy second half comeback to win in Lincoln when he was a freshman. Wes Borland was kicking our butt the whole first half. The second half started and they put Jano in at FB to block him. He had a couple flatback pancakes on Borland on run plays very early on. Borland was really good and was getting his ass handed to him by Jano. I had to smile as it was happening.

When did this guy play for Wisconsin?

On a serious note, Janovich is going to be missed and glad he got to showcase his talents.

Is he gonna give the NFL a shot?

Jano had a great freshman year. I was so excited to see a throwback FB who could block and free up our other RBs, Then Pelini/Beck ignored him the following two years. So weird.

I agree, just look at how many tackles he makes on special teams, he would have been a tackling machine at LB.

It shows the current coaches are better at seeing talent and using it. This staff has a wider assortment of running plays than the prior staff. How many times have the Huskers rushed for 300+ yards and not had a single 100 yard rusher? Not many if any I'm sure.

Definitely one of the hardest guys to replace on offense. I wonder if Harrison Jordan is ready to pick up the slack, if they slide someone else in the position (Trey Foster maybe, or a big I-back), or if they basically write off the position for next year. I hope it's not the last option, because I think this year showed they can be productive out of the Maryland I.

I loved one of the touchdowns (maybe first one) where Jano leads and the defenders basically dives at the hole. Jano buries him, which isn't surprising considering the guy's helmet was maybe 9 inches off the turf to begin with, but you have to think that was set up by the defender getting punished on previous plays and knowing that he had to go low to have a chance at keeping his ground against the block.

Very athletic and smart player. Did a good job of racking up tackles on special teams and keeping his balance on the few opportunities he had to carry the ball.
