Jamrog to Midland

I wish him the best, as he's obviously given a huge part of his like to the school and Husker program.

That being said, it's amazing to me how few former coaches from here find even remotely equivalent jobs elsewhere.

Let's get something straight here. He hasn't "given" any of his life to NU and the Huskers. He's gotten more than enough in return for his services. That bugs the hell out of me when a government employee that has been very well paid AND had tremendous perks and benefits retires, quits or is fired and people say he gave so much of his life to his city, state or country. He was sucking in this case the NU tit and got fat doing it. It's pretty obvious why some of our former coaches have issues finding equivalent jobs.

Played and came back twice to be apart of the program he grew up idolizing. Unfortunate that he was part of the administration when the last regime was on the sidelines, but you never would hear him say anything negative about the fans or program. I'd say when he was playing here as a walk-on he gave plenty. But yeah, let's rag on the guy because he couldn't please you in every way possible!

And because he walked on and I believe eventually got a scholarship, he got a job at NU that he never probably could have equaled in the private sector. I'm not ragging on the guy. I'm ragging on the people that use the term "gave so much of his/her life" to a government entity whether hired or elected. BS. They had a job and got paid for it. They didn't "give" anything. Volunteers "give" their service.

That's why I pointed to his days as a walk-on and yes got a scholly his last year. But he gave plenty in those walk on years. More than most on this board I'm sure. As for his chance in the private sector he was an acedemic all-American and has an MBA so I'm sure he would've done fine.
Yes, I'm taking this a bit personal as he is an old classmate of mine. And I'm the first to throw the old staff that didn't play here out with the trash but Jeff did bleed husker red and I'll always defend the guys that played here even if they didn't pan out as coaches. He "gave" plenty IMO.

Curious, do you classify NU football is a "government entity"? Also, is it OK in your world to say someone "gave a big part of their life" to a private company in that same way that is it forbidden to say that about a person working for a "government entity whether hired or elected"? You also are pretty confident that had he not had his NU football ties, he wouldn't have had nearly the success in life that he has had. You base that strong opinion on...???

Was this really called for? I am not big on referring those who are well compensated for a job as making some kind of sacrifice. For all I know, he was misplaced somewhat in his position. But sucking the NU tit and getting fat? Hardly words to use for an alum of the program.
