warren buffett net worth

78.9 billion
78,900 million

saben 15 million for AD
urban 13 million for HC
frost 10 million for OC
venerable 9 million for DC
total....47 million
(add 5 million for players uncles like in the sec)

52 million per year

78,900 minus 52 million = 78,848 million

if I had 78,900 thousand I would give 52 dollars to NU football per year.

to much have been givin much is expected...
pry that wallet open...will send crowbars, jackhammers, etc, whatever it takes.
end the mammon worship!

Well NU IS currently on markdown.

I could be wrong, but I believe Buffet was a big Frank Solich fan. I think he even boasted his going away party. I don’t think he’s been very involved sinced Solich left.

Moos pissed off Phil Knight while he was at Oregon to the point where Knight said he would not donate to a project until Moos was removed .. he was removed.

Maybe Moos's biggest contribution to the program will be to piss off Buffett to the point where Buffett puts a 100+ million dollar bounty on his head

There was a fascinating documentary on Buffett on either HBO or Netflix I watched some months ago. I believe there was a thread about it on here. Anyway, Buffet likes to make money. He is quite obsessed with it, but he is not very materialistic. His wife instilled in him a mission and desire to make the world a better place with all the wealth he has accrued. That doesn't include spending much (if anything) on football at NU. It's hard to fault him for that.

If he wanted to better the world he would donate to the orthodox presbyterian church and support biblical capitalisum.
not gates and his atheist planned parenthood, and ary rand capitalism.

Donating to NU football would be a happy middle ground.

plus I think the other 78900 million could go far, especially for a guy who said he not giving to his kids, and is close to the end.

Despite what people think, Phil Knight is not some nice old man who only has 10-12% stock of Nike. He is a ruthless MF who took exploited the inner city consumer and it will live on until Nike continuously makes mistakes. Losing Miami to Adidas is definitely a slip up IMO. I don't know if you are saying you don't like Moos, and I'm not trying to defend him if you don't like him, but he still deserves credit for his work at Oregon.

I haven't done research and don't know if Buffett has been involved in donating to DONU.

have the utmost respect for Moos ... but if you lock horns with someone like Phil Knight as an AD at Oregon who are going to lose everytime

part of the AD's role is to increase donations from big time donors - not piss them off - and they don't come any bigger than Knight. Moos may very well have been 1000% in the right - but that doesn't matter.

Anyway I hope he knocks it out of the park with this hire ...

He also brought him into the fold as a donor

Contrary to what some think...Boosters offer strong opinions. However, they don’t give away their hard earned money to pay other people not to work, just to make someone else’s Saturday a little happier.

They do “donate” for seat/suite pecking order, they can choose to vote by not doing that, but playing role of a sugar daddy- nope. Their is money at every B1G school to do what they want.

The ADept will have to ante up and pay for their decisions.

The university should ask Mr. Buffett for his advice not his money. Beg him to advise UNL on how to structure the best endowment fund. Then take his advice.

What work at Oregon does Moos deserve credit for? I don’t think he did very much there.

Buffet needs to support Nebraska football more and The Bill Gates Foundation less.

Yeah, humanitarianism is so 2007.

He's got plenty of money to support both. I question his support of Husker football. No idea why he doesn't pledge the dough.

I would rather spend money on my fellow Nebraskans than far flung humanitarian efforts all over the globe. How can you control those governments Bill and Warren?

A good football team doesn't trump humanitarianism, period. Second, he can spend it as he wants. Not everyone holds sports to that high of a regard.

Warren doesn't care about Nebraska, nor will he for the remainder of his life. Nebraska never needed his money in the past and doesn't need it now. If we are in need of some cash Howard Hawks will write a check.

I still think it's BS. Easier for Warren.

Because that's what happens to Bill and Melinda's money...

Nobody wants to say it.

I'll say it

I don't think Buffet has any interest in investing in something that has become the laughing stock of the Big Ten. Should we get a great coach in place that will bring excitement back into our fractured fanbase then he might warm up to the idea.

Cheap PR

I probably get banned soon. Can see it. Buffett Coalition

Here to make sure, wait, what do we support Warren???
