Is there anyone that is not onboard now

I'm as enthusiastic as anyone but I think it's important to separate not being on board from healthy skeptics. If something's not working I will say something and probably be chastised as a hater. If/when that happens, so be it. I've never blindly fallen in line for anything and I'm not about to for anyone ever. But right now unity is as important as anything so I'm on board!

I think the question was about now, not sometime in the future.

100% behind it. I am also behind not micromanaging as well. That means he selects his staff and runs things his way. As always for me, the measuring stick consists of results on the field, the quality of those results, and the state of the program over time.

I would rather have Scott Frost than any other current coach including Saban. Possibly Urban Meyer could recruit here better but not sure I would take him right now over Scott Frost. Scott is the perfect fit for the huskers and he will get players here, he is young, can coach up a team, has support of everyone, and he has the time to build a great team. This is the best I've felt about Husker football in decades.

At this point in time, I don't see how any rational Husker fan could not support this hire.
speculation on my part, but there might be people out there that think the only problem for many years has been this or that head coach rather than the program itself.

I also would understand people that might not buy the coaching credentials or feel it is too risky and prefer a more established coach. I mean, c’mon, there is one hell of a lot of hype going on right now.

We are suffering from frost induced brain freeze :p

He's still going to have to prove it, but at this time he's a no-brainer hire. I would not have considered him three years ago. But today? He's ready and we need a new coach. He's a legacy and is a winner. He's studied under the best. He's won a championship as a player and played in the NFL. He's a native and he has come home. If anyone can restore the program it is Coach Frost.

I have spent the last few days reading and watching film on his O compared to Chip's. People caught up to Chip's O in the pros. Scott has developed ways to break the tenancies. Some the articles point what type of D that raises havoc with the CK O and we have some of them in the B1G to a degree. I look at this O as being more finesse than in your face hard nosed. I just wonder if the "run the damn ball" group and the "wheres the fullback" group and the "why isn't he under center" group and "why is he throwing when he has a lead and just needs to run some clock" group are going to come out and rear their ugly heads. I think it could be interesting to see what Scott does come up with for an O, if this is it or it will continue to change. I am behind the guy, young guy and man o man is he going to learn a lot about leadership. Don't take this as being negative, I have just read too much on here to think all be well.

Honestly, you had to be a total dork to be onboard with Riley...and you would have to be a total dork to not be onboard with Frost.

The NFL caught on to the college approach his offense took. You're not going to make it in the NFL running 4 running plays, college it can but not in the pros.

Totally on board!! But, I think people need to remember the Moos hiring is what brought this all together. If someone else had been hired as AD, today probably never happens.

On-board the ship?

Ships sink. I try to never get onboard ships.

They also make you seasick. Those who got on-board Riley's ship got seasick before it sunk.

I prefer to be on solid Nebraska 90s ground.

I certainly did my share of mocking all of the hype over Frost earlier this year and as recently as a few weeks ago, I would have characterized myself as "OK" with hiring him and willing to give him a chance, but believing there were better options out there. Two embarrassing blowout losses to mediocre/bad teams in the last 3 games changed my outlook a lot. I realized how important it was to have a complete overhaul of the culture in the program and I could see there was nobody better to do it then someone who knew the program already, had experienced the best of it and had proven himself able to turn around a program as a head coach. Plus, I saw that the fanbase was beaten down and needed something to rally around and be excited about and I knew he could provide that.

Even then, before last Saturday I would have said he was who we needed to hire and I was fully supportive, if not overly excited. But after watching and hearing about multiple national analysts all day saying he was or should be going to Florida and treating us as if we were an afterthought and unworthy of him, I became a full-blown 100% supporter of him and as excited as anybody. I've never wanted more to prove all of those people wrong and show them that we can win championships here again-and do it with a homegrown coach that they thought was too good for us. I've never felt this optimistic about our future in the post-TO era and for once I really feel like great things really are going to happen and I'm not having to come up with reasons to convince myself of that fact.

i believe if your not on the plane then your boarding pass is going to be lost, get on board now the plane is flying and if you are not careful it will take off without you. simple message from the coach, get ready to work your ass off or find somewhere else to play, simple and to the point, either you are with us and the ship sails or your not and you can find yourself out in the middle of the ocean with no boat. pretty easy to understand, the new regime is here and the rules are simple. work hard and be rewarded or get the hell out. no questions asked, i look for a lot of the current players to go elsewhere they will not have seen a harder camp then what they are about to encounter. in Mike Gundy ' this isn't intramurals boys."

Was the only choice imo. N is a rare place and none like any other program in the country it's driven by the states pride in that N. No other coaches out there could ever understand or fit that description of this but a NebraskaN. I truly believe everyone will rally behind Scott and help be that driving force back to a great program. N will be talked about again..

I'm from Texas btw and I can see it from here..

I'm super excited about the hire, and the general direction of things. With that said, isn't the point of the message boards to be a place for fans to discuss things among themselves? No credibility required. So what, now we're going to be declared bad fans by the Notarealfan Police if you question or criticize anything? Like Frost could name a bunch of random homeless guys to be his assistant coaches, and a poster is going to be banished if he doesn't get all misty-eyed about it?
