Is Mike Riley the new Bill Callahan??

No. Callahan could recruit.

Too early to tell. There are similarities that's for sure, but at the very least Callahan was a better recruiter and Riley is much easier to root for and seems to understand the intangibles here better.

Callahan was/is a better coach and better recruiter IMO. Riley is more likable, which is nice.

And Callahan played much tougher schedules than Riley has this year. Most of his losses were to pretty good teams, or at least to bowl teams.
