I do too, but Lee will throw without looking at coverage on the receiver half of the time, explains his 13 or 14? picks this yearIt seems in Riley's/Langsdorf scheme, our receivers are rarely wide open.
Lee is almost almost always throwing into tight spaces.
BTW, I think Tanner Lee has as good of an arm as anyone in College football.
That's another thing on the recruiting side of things we have to get Lineman in on both sides of the ball. I love the flashy receivers but we need the crucial parts of the offense and defense.Brutal OL play is responsible for 1/2 of his int's.
We only have two WR with separation speed and they are both Freshman (1-RsFr & 1-true)
I think the routes are poorly designed. So often receivers are in close proximity to other receivers.
And people will bitch when they recruit receivers. Only in Nebraska can you think you can win at the level most fans want to without play-making type receivers. We only have two WR with separation speed and they are both Freshman (1-RsFr & 1-true)
Or
They aren't running the right routes (or running them correctly---bringing their defenders into the play)

Unfortunately, there is so much more to being a good QB than simply having a good arm.

15? We hardly have any. Should guys like Rahn and Reimers really be in the two deep at a program like Nebraska?Need some, don't need 15.
^^^exhibit a^^^. Supposedly we recruit way too many, and yet there are barely enough to play a game on the roster.Need some, don't need 15.
This staff can't close...even some of Williams biggest supporters have said that.^^^exhibit a^^^. Supposedly we recruit way too many, and yet there are barely enough to play a game on the roster.
Receivers issue is bull they get open otherwise ,we would not have two of the leading receivers in the big 10 on a one dimensional team. The size of DPE and Spielman, Lindsey makes tight coverage with two yards of separation risky. Our Lack of running game and screen game means many teams scheme for our two and three receivers sets. TEs just now started showing up has helped some Basiically we have to improve at the point of attack and run better inside outside runs. Then execute screens to loosen up coverage. Extra people drift into lanes because they can abandon the run. Makes screens less effective and crossing routes tough. If we had a running game, it would open up many more lanes in the passing game.It seems in Riley's/Langsdorf scheme, our receivers are rarely wide open.

No deep threats, even if we wanted to.If this is a WCO that we run then it is a nickel and dime passing offense The vertical game isn't used as often as the horizontal is. We apparently like to play in traffic..
No deep
No deep threats, even if we wanted to.
But right now defenses aren't afraid of us going over the top and they don't respect the run. Jamming wr's on the line and tight windows underneath. You would be surprised at what a well executed offense would produce. Again, if it's a WCO the horizontal passing game to stretch the defense would cause them to adjust and then the vertical game opens up due to the defenses adjustment. Much like running the ball to open up play action, a short passing game opens up the deep stuff. If the nickel and dime stuff isn't working well than running and the deep stuff wont either.
