I am not local so this is the first I am seeing anything about this story, but sounds like Creighton BBall Coach Greg McDermott told his players post game that "I need everyone on the plantation." How do you feel about it?

No, but no way can you say that and think it won't lead to some backlash. Have to be careful about what you say and how you say them when you have a high profile job such as his.

With that said. I'm a white male, so I can't pretend to walk in the shoes of someone who might be offended by that statement.

It would have a little more weight .. imho.. if half his team wasn't white guys. Or if he like.. looked at specific people and was like "dont go leaving the plantation". Otherwise was just a dumb thing to say and move on. Boomers say silly things sometimes.

Dumb comment but similar to "back to the the coal mine"

I was married on a plantation. My friends accompanied me and didn't turn down the role or invite. The sky is falling...

Passive racist, perhaps. I dont think he is though.

What he said qualifies as passive racism whether he is or not.
