Iowa and Stanford have never met on the gridiron?!

You might think that over the past 50-100 years they would have played at least once. A bit of a head scratcher for me. Reminds of the bowl game with MIZZOU a couple of years ago. That was the first time in 100 years that Iowa and MIZZOU played each other in football despite the fact the two states share a border.

Nebraska has only played Stanford once and that was back in the 1941 Rose Bowl game.

I know. But still, I thought that Iowa too would have played Stanford at least once in their history. Oh well.

Iowa had a four game series with Mizzou scheduled from 2005-2008 that Pinkel cancelled for competitive reasons.

Which is unfortunate, cause some of those Iowa teams were pretty blah, and some of those Mizzou teams pretty good.
