So, our schedule rather nicely set us up for success. Twenty two consecutive winnable games in the first five weeks of conference play which began with the AFA/MSU week lasting through the KSU/UNO/Iowa week.
***Disclaimer: Minnesota was never a soft spot but the results show that those games were winnable. Also confessing that Creighton is not a soft spot.
Three weeks down, two to go.
Week One - AFA/MSU, five home games
- Won all five
- Compiled a total score of 34-14
- Pitched a 2.60 ERA, 38 SO, 16 BB (12 in the AFA games), held opps to a .212 BA
- Batted .284 for the week
Week Two - CR/MN, four road games
- Split 2-2
- Total score 20- 12 Huskers
- Pitched a 2.52 ERA, 35 SO, 10 BB, held opponents to a .234 BA
- Batted .275 on the week
Week Three - KSU/Purdue, one road game, three home games
- Won all four
- Total score - 46-9
- Pitched a 1.50 ERA, 29 SO, 7 BB, held them to a .173 BA
- Batted .347
Boom! Lots of nice things. Keep it rolling, boys.
