Nebraska only had 3 players start every game on defense in 2015:
Nate Gerry
Josh Kalu
Greg McMullen
Maliek Collins did NOT start vs. Purdue for some disciplinary reason, but actually played most of the game.
This stat will really blow your mind:
From week one until the Bowl game, Nebraska only had 9 defensive players who were either healthy and or eligible (not suspended or absent) each week.
In 2014, Nebraska had 8 defensive players start every game. And 3 more guys were basically rotated due to the way Pelini started his units in Peso or a Base 4-3. There were also 20 defensive players, who were starters or main contributors on ST, healthy and eligible to play every single game in 2014.
*keep in mind there were players in both seasons who just didn't contribute on either special teams or as primary defensive players. They may have been healthy and eligible, but didn't play. I did not factor those guys into these numbers since they're non factors.
