Injuries

I knew Reilly had pulled his hamstring when he really stretched for that catch (that was ruled an incomplete) over the middle. It's going to hurt his speed even if he's cleared to play.

Well, it's still early in the week so I'll remain hopeful. Next man up of they can't go.

I know it looks bad at WR but we still have Westerstache, DPE, and Morgan. That's not too shabby

Jackson- definitely won't play
Stoltenburg- day to day hopefully he will be back sooner then expected.
Moore- expect him to play by Friday ( to big of a game for him to set pit.
Reilly- like Jackson Hammy and groined are touchy things and need to be careful with.

My left leg hammy was burning last week. Don't think I've experienced it to that extreme before. Was the day after some weights that worked my legs some. Took at least five days for it to go away. These guys are working out a lot harder than I do. Was curious on the recovery time.

But they are younger, are elite athletes, and have lots of technology to help them heal faster.

Awwww... now there you went an done it. :(

Sorry man, I wish I were younger and able to come back from injuries as fast as I did in my teens and early 20s too, but those days are long gone.

But our players have so many technological advantages that aren't available to us, and that may be the most important factor of coming back from injuries more quickly.

Lamar Jackson and Reilly won't hurt, as much as Moore and Stoltenberg.

If I had to choose....I would rather have those 2 available...but I say sit Stoltenberg until Northwestern. This game isn't that important anymore, with a 9 game schedule.

We need Stanley to have a big game this weekend. Reilly is going to be out a few weeks I'm afraid.... Moore should play though. He always has a banged-up shoulder.

Wonder if HCMR is playing the game that coaches like Saban have been playing for years. List a healthy kid as questionable and shake up the other teams prep. Got my fingers crossed that this is what he is doing

That sucks. I recall the coaches saying it was tough not having him for the opener because Morgan and Moore both had to prepare for two positions.

I've been told this by two different guys that would know unless they are wrong but 99 percent of the time they are on the money.

I was told yesterday our staff is expecting Reilly to be a game time decision. They fully expect him to be out there warming up Saturday to see how it feels.

I hope Reilly doesn't try to play just to play through it. The only thing that heals that injury is rest. If he tries playing and just aggravates it more it will just prolong his return in conference games.

You just never know with any given muscle tweak until you test it out again. If he got a bad strain on a hammy, it will be weeks before it's right again. Ideally they will shut him down until he's healed. You can play on it, but it really takes the top end off your explosiveness. It's about a guarantee that as soon as you try to sprint, you aggravate it and set yourself back a couple more weeks.

It's a like a bad sprain. You can either shut it down and get it healed now, or count on it nagging you all season.

Groin muscle is a BAD one for a CB. So much fast change of direction needed for those guys. You don't realize how much you use it until you strain it, takes away your lateral quickness that is so crucial for a corner. They have to turn and go on every play.

Truth. Even "mild" strains can hurt like a mofo when you engage in quick or sudden movements. I had a mild strain many years ago and it lingered forever. I can only imagine the agony of a severe strain.
