1. I don't understand the RB situation especially switching them out after a few plays. There is no chance of continuity. Wilbon is still a big mystery.
2. Burning a Redshirt for Stephenson just for the KO return team. You have to be kidding.
3. Why do the DB's never look for the ball? This has to be coaching as they do it all of the time. I think we need a new secondary coach at the end of the season at a minimum. Keep in mind we have "3" previous DC's on this staff and the defense is the worst in the country against the pass.
4. NU always seems to get a pass rush in the 1st half but it disappears in the 2nd half as guys start getting tired.
5. NU never gets any turnovers and this has to change. There was no excuse today for not having at least two interceptions.
5. Offensive Line is average at best. They do okay with pass blocking but run blocking is below average.
6. Offensive Play Calling. I'm not sure the passing plays being called by Langsdorf are going to the right receivers in some cases. Many times there are receivers open underneath but Armstrong in many cases goes for the homerun ball. So it's really hard to know what the actual pass play that was called. Also Armstrong has regressed considerably the last two games in the passing game.
7. NU should have attempted at least one pass in its final possession to get a first down. I was dumbfounded to see three runs into the gut of the Wisconsin defense who were set up for the run.
8. Drew Brown needs to improve as his missed FG ended up being huge in this game. Yeah I know the Wisconsin kicker missed two as well. However you need to take advantage of the opportunities presented.
9. Overall I think it's very unlikely NU will get to "6" wins unless a dramatic turnaround develops the rest of the season.
10. I suppose Riley deserves a Mulligan for this year unless the team flat out quits and they end up 2-10. However there will be no Mulligan's for next year.
