If people in power say &%^# is next head coach, who will want to be AD?

If the people who have influence at Nebraska are saying Frost will be next Head Coach, what person besides a Nebraska guy would want to be AD? If you tie the hands of next AD and tell them to hire Frost, then you won't get the best AD you will get a AD with Nebraska ties only.

(I am not saying Frost should or should not be next Head coach, this is just an observation for debate)

Exactly. I'm convinced that certain fans won't be happy unless its a Alberts-Frost combo. We could get Bill Cowher, Nick Saban, Brent Venables or Riley could win the West and be retained and they would still be miserable and bitching.

If Frost keeps winning at UCF, he's going to be on every AD's list. So it would be foolish to hire Alberts just to get Frost.

If the powers that be want Frost that bad, why not just hire UCF's athletic director? He's got a better resume than Alberts.

That's ridiculous. Nobody would be pissed if we hired Nick Saban or any other proven winner. The problem is the last 4 guys we've hired have not been proven winners.

If we have the right head coach I don't really care who the AD is or who happens to hire the right head coach.

If the football program is rolling the AD pretty much has immunity.

Despite Eichorsts apparent mission to get rid of Pelini - no one would have benefitted more from Pelini winning a conf title than Eichorst. The only hire that the AD at Nebraksa has to make that impacts his job security is the head football coach

I think you should give riley 5 years min, and judge at that point, cause if you can AD's pre canning coaches, and you can coaches in 3 years, your going to have a problem getting either. unless it's a Nebraska AD or coach.

They would be moaning because Saban would probably:

- drop the walk-on program
- completely do away with the blackshirts
- want to play Friday night games
- want to a Little Sisters of the Poor team in November
- not play on Thanksgiving weekend
- close practice to all media
- get rid of Husker Fan Day before fall camp
- hire assistants that have no prior relationship to Nebraska or the Huskers
- not allow former players to visit
- get rid of the tunnel walk
- tell the students to keep their stinky shoes on their feet during kickoffs
- not allow any red balloons to be released after the first Husker TD
- not allow the marching band on the field before games
- stop fans from doing the Husker Power chant
- kick any player off the team for 'throwin' the bones' after a sack
- tell the fans not to applaud the opposing team after the game
- put stinky undies in der weinerschlinger to be shot into the crowd
- comment after every game about how crappy Runzas taste
- purposely call no running plays for a whole season
- disallow fans to sway their arms back and forth after scores
- hide a stack of Husker game tickets to end the sellout streak
- tell the fans the sea of red has to end


and if he won 4 championships for us in 8 years, we would all be fine with that... right?
