Guaranteed. Look at that Oregon team. Oregon sucks now, but they were a different team at that point, and no one wants to see how Northwestern is improved.

Someone can find positives and negatives in everything, the reality is it's usually somewhere in the middle.

I've been ready all week to see either scenario play out. Win and the, "well they had a tough stretch of games before us and they are 4-3 so they aren't world beaters...just wait for Ohio State"

Or a loss and people will immediately regress to how we were a mirage and our weak schedule propped us up.

I have been a half glass empty guy with this team for a variety of reasons...just trying to be realistic with what I am seeing on tv and in person. However, it is great to see the record at 7-0 despite several concerns. With that being said, I will not be one of those fans that makes excuses if Nebraska can travel to Wisconsin and beat a high quality team in a night game.

That would be an impressive win against the 11th ranked team. My glass will become half full if we somehow win. I am not convinced they can win at Ohio State but the odds will have increased considerably in my mind.

Yep this team is flawed. In several areas.

I'll be the first to admit it. But I have seen zero fans that claim otherwise or who believe we are a top team nationally.

I like you scarlet, but here's where we disagree. To not care what others think is an isolationist philosophy. This is akin to what happened to Io_a last year. They just beat every weak team put in front of them and their fans acted like they were world beaters. Ignorant to the fact they do not have the talent to compete on the national stage. When they got shellaced by Stanford, they couldn't believe it; ignorant. Not far off from what happened to Nebraska in the 80s & early 90s; success in the regular season but beat by a fast forida team in the post season. Osborne & staff finally broadened their defensive philosophy and recruited speed to match up. My point is national perception is important, because whether you like it or not, ESPN, ABC & FOX control the perception of national recruits. We, as a program better be very conscious of our national relevance if we want to compete for championships, which is the reason we made a coaching change.

I don't care what people say, JUST WIN BABY! We are relevant, we are recruiting well, & we are playing defense well. Even if the wheels fall off and we finish 9-3 we've improved and we are trending in right direction. I said 8-4 at the beginning of the year. 10-2 is very possible. My big concern is the O-line. My hope is we get better and deeper.

95% of our fans would consider this a great (not good) win. I think most Husker fans are pretty reasonable and pretty smart, we know this is a very good team and not all records are created equally. When you play the schedule Wisky has, a team that isn't exactly known for stacking 4 stars on both sides of the ball, but is always well coached and can run the ball well, always has a salty D, playing at home in one of the best game day environments at a place they've won some really BIG games recently, this is a very good team and great opportunity for us. If anyone doesn't think so they would just be wrong.

Going on the road and beating a team like Wisconsin would be a great win. Hell, I'd say for the sake of possibly making the conference championship game, this game is the biggest yet under Riley.

That being said, I can't forget the beatdowns we've experienced lately at the hands of Wisconsin. Here's hoping the revenge tour continues.

To me this game really hinges on two guys, Gates and Knevel. If their ankles hold up enough to generate a good push up front this game will be ours. Defensively I think we'll be fine. A win tonight will bring respect. GBR!
