If Huskers can start 3-0

Not near the days of true anticipation, when Colorado had Kordell Stewart/Bill McCartney, or when Missouri had James Wilder or Chase Daniel. We are talking about anticipation, not how the games themselves were.

Every meaningful bowl game, every game with Oklahoma for over 2 decades, and every game between short term but intense rivals like Colorado or Kansas State were much more anticipated.
Now, we're just happy "if" we beat Illinois. Worst. Years. Ever.

Look at our throne and then compare and contrast that to OU’s. It should be clear that only one of those two programs are actually serious about football ….

are we even trying?

and get the Sooners at night... it's got to be potentially the most juiced atmosphere in Memorial Stadium history right?
Let's review history under SF.
Season openers:
2018 Lost to Colorado
2019 Beat South Alabama, lost next week to Colorado
2020 Lost to Ohio State
2021 Lost to Illinois.

NU has lost 3 of the last 4 openers.
NU has not won more than 2 games in a row in 4 years.

Now we have fans who assume a 3-0 start leads to the big OU game. The schedule is very soft and NU should get to OU undefeated. If so, a lot of precedence will be set.

Even in that one opening game win vs. So. Alabama, NU stumbled and bumbled around to beat a really bad team.

NU completely smoked Northwestern last year but they are likely still better than that crappy South Alabama that NU struggled with in that opener. With NU, nothing is a given until proven otherwise.

The NW game is a toss up playing on a neutral field 6 time zones away. Horrible way to start the season.

The OU game is 11:00 kick.

This is true and that 78 game is the only one of the many I've been to that left my ears ringing for 3 days.
That was one of the more bizarre games of the series. OU fumbled nine times and lost by 3 points. Then, six weeks later they played each other again in the Orange Bowl.

These throne pics are so cringey. Im trying to wrap my brain around Christian Peter or LP on a college visit and they ask him if he wants to put on a gold cowboy hat, lay down on a loveseat sized pleather throne and take some glamour shots.
