If we had gotten a top 3 seed for the NIT, I wouldn't be posting this. I understood going into this weekend we were on the outside looking in of the big dance, nearly certainly, but held a glimmer of hope nonetheless. But I almost assuredly thought we'd be on the 2 or at worst 3, line of the NIT. When I see what they did, what our seed was, where we are going, I'd decline. Plain and simple.
When you have Stanford as a 3 seed who has just a god awful resume, what were they seeding based off of? Oregon w/ a 72 RPI also on the 3 line? We are playing @ a team with an RPI nearly 20 spots lower than us. LSU has a 94 RPI, 94!!!!!, and was rewarded with a 3 seed and hosts UL-L.
I'd seriously talk about it with the team and if they wanted to play great, but I'd put it to a vote and if they felt like they got shafted, I'd tell the NIT to go f#ck itself, plain and simple. That is a joke.
