God took my father home yesterday. Dad was a great American born and raised on the farm near Lynwood Nebraska. Dad joined the Marines out of high school and proudly served his time in Korea. He moved to California afterwards. He was just amazed that you could wear a T-shirt and shorts at Christmas time. He worked hard and always provided for the family. After 25 years of working at Proctor &Gamble in Long Beach CA. he had to find new work as an old guy when P&G closed operations in L.B. C.A.. So in the early 1980's he had an idea. He opened a sports bar in Fullerton California. He called it the cornhusker club and suds pub. It became a huge success. Soon ex Nebraskans from all over were visiting. Then word got to Nebraska and people would stop by on vacation. Former huskers would stop by regularly. Ferragamo, Anthony Steele, the women's softball team and many many others I just can't remember. Players parents would stop like Brenden Stai's mom. Games were watched on those huge satellites. I remember dad yelling when we lost how Osborne had to be fired because he is too nice. Then came the 90's and he never brought it up again. Today, have a swallow of beer for my dad who loved the Huskers so much. God bless you dad,. I love you.
