....I'd be pretty happy with the ENDING of the season if we can beat Iowa...some good old fashioned hanging in there...seriously, we COULD in a perfect world be undefeated....(I know, I know...and if your aunt had...just save it....:) )

As many injuries and heartbreakers we have had this year, winning out, beating 2 top 10 teams and winning a bowl would make it all worth it. Would be HUGE for the teams confidence and be a big springboard going into recruiting and next season!!

Would give us a lot of momentum going into next year.
Especially when you consider any bowl we get into at 6-6 isn't going to be real high caliber we won't be facing a 9 or 10 win opponent. Will be setting us up for a 7-6 finish and big time momentum heading into year two, knowing that not only did we have a real chance to win all six of those losses but probably should have. That's something coaches can build on for sure.

Beating two top ten teams and sticking it to the hogeyes, would be the best possible way to end the regular season. Then, hopefully winning the bowl game and finishing with a good recruiting class would certainly be a great way to head into next season.

Undefeated? I hope they lose tonight so that when we beat them it knocks them out of the B1G championship game.
Hahaha, that would be fine by me too! My kid likes Cars 2 and there is a quote from there that is appropriate for me: "To truly crush your opponent, you must first raise their hopes VERY high."

Would feel a lot more like like MSU's 7-6 2012 season if they beat Iowa and won the bowl game. We all know what happened the next year

Agree op. At this point, to me, our record is irrelevant. What's happened has happened... Alot of "if onlys" this season, but nothing we can do about it now.

With all the problems and with how the season has gone, a win over iowa and a bowl win would really put this team on the right path.

By Nebraska's standards, a 5-7/6-6 type record is absolutely unacceptable. But given the situation we're in....at this point I would be happy just to GO to a bowl game and have something to build on

Nope...this is a problem.

If Tommy plays smart we have a great chance of winning. If he goes crazy and turns the ball over it could get ugly.

Should be a great crowd/atmosphere though with all that is at stake. Probably one of the biggest Iowa games in history.

it was looking like 4-8 a couple weeks ago, so to go 6-6 with two wins against top ten teams would be something to build on. I think we'll be a real small favorite on Black Friday.

yeah...I'm pretty sure NO one is 'happy' with 6-6...but if you can be 'unhappy' in a happier way, well, 6-6 IS better and puts us on the right path perhaps...

Posts like these puzzle me... What are you trying to say? Winning our final 3 (or 4 with bowl game) defeating two undefeated top ten teams is a problem?

I know it can't be this and must have something to do with the first 9 games, but seriously, if you can't be optimistic about this kind of finish...

Who here is saying 6-6 is satisfactory? What I am reading is its a great way to finish and build momentum for next year. And all you can say is "it's a problem."

Winning against Iowa, and then again in a bowl game would be huge for momentum and into next season.

The story line would be that things started off a bit shaky, and then the team started to turn the corner. That is a good thing for the future.

TA throwing 3 interceptions last night and having his next to worst performance of the season (QB rating wise) was not a good sign however.

Further concerned about his injury, since he didn't throw again after that shot to the ribs.

I hope we win out, that is the best way to end this season. 7 wins (counting a bowl win) is "okay" in the world of college football and it's a transition year. It's not up to par for some Husker fans, but it is what it is.

Ruining Iowa unbeaten season after beating MSU when they were unbeaten would help is some ways would wash away the losing 4 games in the last 15 seconds.

Exactly. Everyone is as quite as the dead on this subject. But your correct. We didn't throw after his hit and i noticed that straight away.

So knocking off undefeated top ten teams late in the season is anything but spectacular ? Its a testament to our players character. Despite all the last second losses; we are doing something that hasn't been done since 2001; beating top ten teams.

Bump for JRE... Still waiting.

Yeah, while I'm not gonna run around beating my chest about a .500 season if they get there, it would be encouraging if they're trending in the right direction to close out the year. That was so much of the frustration before, was they'd come out looking great in September and then fall apart late in the year.

If you only have a good half of something in you, make it the second half.

I just hope they don't spend their off week overthinking it and drawing up these magically genius ways to reinvent football against Iowa. Do what you do well for 4 quarters and see how it goes.

For this. Your cryptic post first and my response. What are you saying here?

I hope you get the chance to play an 11-0 Iowa. Although losing to nebraska would suck... 11-1 wouldn't.

GO HAWKS!
Minnesota, while not great, was your last hurdle to coming into Nebraska undefeated. No offense to Purdue, but Iowa is too solid to drop that game. Should make for good TV while enjoying some Thanksgiving leftovers! This is the first NU-Iowa game I've been pumped up for. Now all we need is a real trophy...

While I agree Tommy didn't have his best game against Rutgers, I think it was actually a good sign that the team still put them away and won by 17 on the road. That's a sign of a team getting better.
