Let me say first I am not ready to give up on this staff yet. They had a bad coaching game, Tommy had a horrible game, DPE dropped a rare ball, the receivers couldn't catch, and the secondary that had been doing OK broke down at the worst possible moment. The stars aligned to be all bad and NU lost the game. I think everyone reading this has screwed up, and lots of us have screwed up over a period of time to make our dumb actions look systemic. We all learn, even later in life and perhaps this will serve as a "teachable moment".

I feel betrayed after all the talk about "blending" what they had with the players on hand, "committing" to running the ball, "learning" how to incorporate the ZR, how important our tradition is, how we will reestablish the pipeline, and all that, and then showing us yesterday that we were basically being lied to. At least Callahan made no bones about what he planned to do even if it meant forcing players to play his scheme leading to "just one game, just one season".

I also feel betrayed by our highly-paid AD whose job it was to replace rookie mistakes and lack of attention to detail. What we have now is rookie mistakes and lack of attention to detail.

I'm not gloom and doom and "Nebraska football is over"; however, this staff needs to pull their heads out of their asses and step up their games to be aligned with where they are at and what the expectations are.

if our running backs are being replaced because of their pass blocking…I think it's safe to say we are abandoning the run again..

If we are going to pass, why can't we get at least 1 ball slinger? texas tech and northwestern seem to grow them guys on trees.

Why would we want to slang the ball in 20 mph winds, drizzle, rain, freezing temperatures we play in.

4th game of the year and the win was even effecting the ball on short throws.

Bingo. Yesterday's game made it very clear that this staff has no intention of operating a run first offense. I'm no fan of the wannabe NFL offense this staff is trying to run.

And what is this staff's motivation to pull their heads out and meet our expectations. Not a one has ties to our state or tradition. They see Bo cashing checks and happy he's not dealing with our expectations any longer. They are content with going through the motions and feeding their egotistical football philosophies.

First of all, none of these coaches have been successful unless you want to count Mike's Grey Cup wins in Canada! what a joke. The OC reported in the O W-H that some of the passes "just missed their mark" in the Illinois game. This staff doesn't get it. They can not count on having great weather for every game to run their offense. Run the ball. Again , Riley was 29-33 his last 5 years in Corvallis. It rains there, too.

I love a pass first offense. I love how much TA is growing, and I'm loving the idea of what POB could bring to the table in the next couple years. I do believe we'll be running the football more now that we have a back that can hit the hole and get to the end zone. Newby hasn't been good enough. Ozigbo seems to be tougher and have better vision. I'm eager to see how the run game grows with him getting more reps.

I'm going to get killed for saying this, but I think HCMR is like a polished turd.....

We need to stop this. MR is a "good guy" to the refs, the boosters, etc., but not a great, maybe not even a good, coach. BP was a good coach that was not a "good guy" to the refs, the boosters, etc. And yes I saw last year's Wisconsin game. I still play those MG runs over in my head.

It doesn't help anything, especially our chances of getting a better coach if we keep calling Nebraska coaches "polished turds, ReiLLLy, Peelini, PeLLLLini,".....

The big problem to me is this:
There are many people who care very deeply about the Nebraska program.
The head coach is not one of those people.
The AD is not one of those people either.

Bo Pelini is not and will likely never be a good head coach.
