LAS VEGAS - Three former wrestlers and eight current Nebraska wrestlers are competing at the U.S. Open this weekend in Las Vegas. Isaiah White (79 kg), Collin Purinton (74 kg), Christian Lance (125 kg), and Alex Thomsen (60 kg) will wrestler in the Senior Men's brackets, while seven other Huskers on the 2021-22 roster will battle in the UWW Junior Freestyle brackets.
Of the current Huskers competing, Silas Allred (92 kg), Elise Brown Ton (79 kg), Nathan Haas (86 kg), Joshua Licking (70 kg), Zak Taylor (97 kg), and Blake Cushing (65 kg) are coming off redshirt years, while Dominick Serrano (61 kg) and Thomsen both started five duals for NU this past season.
The Senior Nationals, the qualifying event for the 2022 Senior World Team Trials and Final X, and the UWW/U20 Nationals, the qualifying event for the 2022 U20 World Team Trials, will both begin on Friday, April 29.
