when did the 85 scholarship rule take effect? Nowadays lot of Nebraska kids end up taking scholarships at sdsu, ndsu, Ohio, Wyoming, Etc that back in the day would have walked on at Nebraska correct? Even if only 20% of these players ended up making an impact at Nebraska , it would be huge for the depth of our football team. Is this a fairly new trend? Kids going to play at sdsu ndsu etc, ? Or were there lots of Nebraska players accepting scholarships to these smaller schools even back in the 90s? The quality of the walk on players seem to have diminished greatly in the past 15 years
