I watch a lot of basketball each year simply because I am passionate about the sport. I have also been a husker bball fan for 25+ years. With that being said I am sick and tired of hearing about Nebraska basketballs youth. The more Nebraska games I watch as a fan of the sport vs. a fan of the team I feel I have figured out where the issues lies.
There is no denying that MIles has improved the overall talent in Lincoln, but where he has failed is to put together a basketball team. If you look at our guards they all have the same strengths. If you look at our post players they all have the same type of game. Meaning they struggle to score with their back to the basket against decent post defense and not one of them can stretch the defense by stepping out and hitting a 15 foot jumper. Now it appears that we have started to address some of the gaps in our team by bringing in Copeland and Nana, who is supposed to be a dead eye shooter.
This year we are a team of better athletes, however, the roster does not compliment each other's strengths. Hopefully, this changes next year.
