Love seeing Iowa choke the big 10 championship away, all they needed was one win. Iowa sucks
Kinda like their football team. Not bad but definitely benefitted from an easy conference schedule. Exposed when they finally played the better teams.
This is about making sure top seeds still get in the NCAA tournament. The last thing they want is tha 8-12 seed knocking out usc in the pool play and losing that bid. Heck only Oregon and ucla are guaranteed a spot.
The format is completely stupid. It's really single elimination with a meaningless game thrown in. Look at our pod.
Nebraska-MSU, loser eliminated.
Nebraska wins and Oregon plays a meaningless game against MSU on Thursday. Then the NU-OU winner advances.
MSU wins and MSU-OU winner advances. Friday's game between OU and NU is meaningless.
It's like that in every pod.

Of course but this makes it where if you lose a game you could still come back and win it all like Nebraska did last year..
My opinion with 4 added teams it’s watered down but with these conference getting bigger the double elimination now is only in the NCAA tournament..

That would require a coach that understands that a baseball season is a marathon race, not a sprint. I don't blame Bolt for who he is, a hustler as a player and an immature attitude towards winning baseball. Our offensive woes are partly due to over-ggressiveness on the basepaths. If UNL sticks with him maybe age will cure this somewhat. Also, very disappointed in our pitching staff, coaches and hurlers.

Only if you are a top 4 seed. You only play 2 games before the double elim. If Nebraska loses tonight they will be eliminated from going to the double elim because if Oregon then beats Mich St, it's a 3 way tie and the top seed moves on, that is the tiebreaker. If Mich St wins both games they go on.
It is quite possible that by the time Thursday and Friday come around, there could a bunch of exhibition games going on.
If UCLA beats Illinois in the first game tomorrow, they are guaranteed to move on the the double elim, If Rutgers holds on to their lead against Indiana, then loses tomorrow night to Iowa, Iowa is guaranteed to move on to the double elim. That is all before USC and Oregon play a single game.
It is a horrible set up, Either drop it to 8 and play a single elim or even keep it at 12 and have the top 4 get bye games into an 8 single elimination.

If the team wins tonight, they don't have Timmerman vs OU. That is the point.
