In case you missed it yesterday, the MLB signing deadline for drafted players came and went without Nebraska reliever Colton Howell signing. Howell, who had been picked by the Padres in the 27th round, considered leaving but ultimately decided to return. The fireballing reliever will be welcomed back with open arms and could compete for the closer role with Josh Roeder graduated.
