Ah gotcha. Yeah quite honestly it’s completely ridiculous. So you’re telling me I have to wear a mask in a restaurant but then when I sit down I can take it off... like ok how does that work? Am I “safe” now? Does the virus not come around when I eat?

Bars and restaurants and none of this stuff should have been closed.
Wish I could give this comment 10 likes. When I speak this reasoning to those in my life, it falls on deaf ears. Like, well, whats the big deal. Its defies logic! That's the big deal. Why don't we all wear rubber gloves and space suits to prevent further spread. Nah, that'd be lunacy...but there's no distinction with masks (especially in the restaurant policy). Oh well, I digress.

Rant over, I feel better.

Yep... Or the popular vote that has been brought up 8 times in this thread... Or maybe current pres has added more members to his congregation.

I guess I need proof of my claims on the world view: https://www.pewresearch.org/global/...obe-while-views-of-u-s-stay-mostly-favorable/

I am so left... so left... Gotta balance out all of you that are so right, so right... What to do with the independents? I will have to resign my place with them after my previous post.
lol ... you didn't even click on your own link ... I under-estimated how lame you are. ...

Clinton was REPORTED to have a 14 point lead on 10/29/16....less than two weeks to the election

Its weird how we have taken safety measures that would normally seem to make sense but then found rationale to not use them in some settings.

Wear a mask to the table for safety.

Now you're safe, so take it off.

Put it back on when you go to the bathroom for safety.

Order your meal with no mask, but when you go to pay the cashier put it on.

I get that we are trying to navigate a difficult situation, but there is absolutely no objective rationale in some of this crap. Why can I go to Wal-Mart along with 5000 other people but can't go to the local coffeeshop? It defies logic.

If you just inferred that I hate America, then you have crossed a line. If you studied science at all, you wouldn't be supporting the lame excuse for the current president.

Not the point of the question. Was asking if he traveled because of you have lately you might realize the opinion of the US is not great. It does matter
lol ... thought so ... I wish there was a way to teach you how to feel embarrassed.

Are you smart enough to ask your fellow American which COUNTRIES WE DON'T LIKE? Sorry leftist, when the rest of the world stops asking for our charity, technology and protection I'll start worrying what they think of us.

What difference does that make? I travel to Colorado and dont give a damn what a Buff fan thinks.

Why should I give a damn what an EU citizen thinks when I travel there?
Thats your preference
If you want to limit your experiences have at it. Being a global citizen is kinda awesome though. I am constantly planning my next trip, even in a pandemic. If you ever need any pointers let me know. I love exploring new places

I bet the Italian region of Lombardy will be super pissed that so many had to die due to this hoax. All those Swedes that died for the leftist cause. Empty soccer stadiums throughout the UK just to further the cause. It's really been a mess to coordinate across continents and countries but they did it. New Zealand didnt get the agenda notes from the South Pacific regional Antifa meeting but the evildoers will continue on. Yep Nov 4 is what it's all about. Stupid.....I actually think that it wouldnt matter who is or was President because as a country we have too many that wouldnt follow guidelines because Liberty, Justice, Freedom AND whatever other buzzword one could conjure up to justify not wearing a cloth and keeping distance from each other. We didnt stand a chance from the spread for the beginning.
AMEN!

I’m a conservative Christian. I voted for Trump in 2016. For the life of me I don’t understand the “this will be over in November” line of thought. So every country, friend and foe, bought into and conspired with the DNC for the sole purpose of bringing down one man who must face re-election and can serve no more than 8 years???? This would literally be the largest, most far reaching, most grandiose conspiracy in the history of all mankind. The mere thought of the level of planning and sophistication it would take to pull off such a plan in 2-3 years is so mind numbing it quickly becomes asinine. While i think socialists and the like are dangerous and I fear them and their ideologies far more than Covid, those who espouse far right ideologies that disregard basic science and logic are equally ignorant and dangerous.

People need to get it through their thick skulls that Covid is not about Trump. It never was. It was made political (by both sides) because “never let a good crisis go to waste.” That has been the mantra of every politician ever. It is opportunism at its finest, and Republicans and Democrats alike are using it to further their own causes and gain votes. People who fail to realize this are blinded by their own biases.

Nah, I don't want to take all of your EBT cards. Don't you have a black owned business to destroy so you can scream about someone else being racist?
Why would you think it was a partisan comment? If there’s someone from the loony left on this board who’s potted-plant stupid enough to declare that Joe Biden’s going to get close to 500 electoral votes, I’ll gladly make the same bet with them. I’m happy to take money from blowhards, regardless of their tribe.

So no lie the one thing from this thread that directly impacts me is that I'm going to order olive garden tonight. Chicken fettuccine Alfredo is on the list with extra bread sticks
So this was an enormous error in judgement. It's 136 am and my stomach is making noises I haven't quite heard before. Also acid reflux is working overtime.

The virus is real. . The amazing fact that riots and protests don't spread it but eating at Olive Garden does is, well, questionable.
My kid waited tables ALL SUMMER at a restaurant which is in a high traffic tourist area. No masks on anybody and full occupancy. Lots of bikers dined their over the past month. NOBODY she worked with got sick all summer including several 50 to 65 year olds. I thought sure I would get it from her. Nope. Tested negative for COVID and COVID antibodies. I ate meals 2 feet from her at least once a day for 3 months. I've eaten at that restaurant once a week now for about 5-6 weeks.

Nailed it. Because there has not been a better explanation offered anywhere as to why hundreds of thousands of sporting events have been held nationwide during the last few weeks, including football games, yet the BIG refuses to play.

when you are outside, there is a much lower chance of breathing in someone else's exhaled air... sitting in a restaurant with a captive air supply makes it much easier to rebreathe something someone else exhaled. This should be common sense... So I have no idea how you can draw that conclusion.

I will tell you what they think of us in Asia.. they think the people are stupid. The question I often get is why the govt allows the country to be flooded with illegal workers to displace their own citizens?

They also happen to like Trump, and think he is smart and trying to help the country.

Of course I have heard plenty about the riots, and was asked why the police don't just shoot those people. (lol, they don't quite understand human rights thing)

In Asia, they do respect authority and power. When you act like a weak snowflake, you are seen as a loser.

It's going to be ugly. Nov 4th won't mean a damn thing other than we probably won't have any clue who won. We know who will win the popular vote but that's unfortunately not the metric we use.
if that was the case, there would campaigning in only about 5 states--

but the popular vote doesn't count much in anything anymore--one complaining mother, or one judge can overrule popular vote/opinion:confused:

That's a fair point. No doubt popular vote results would be different if conservative-minded folks in CA and NY along with more liberal-minded folks in Texas were all to show-up and vote instead of feeling it's a waste of time.
Your statement is exactly why the Electoral College is hurting our votes. A vote in CA is irrelevant. Everyone knows CA and NY is going blue. A vote in Nebraska is irrelevant. Everyone knows Nebraska is voting red. The reality is that there are about 10 battleground states where your vote matters. Why is a vote in Ohio worth more than a vote anywhere else? Let every vote count the same.

Oh that is right...that is why there were no reports of Covid from the people on the beaches...oh wait, there was.

Come on.

And if catching while outside is next to impossible...why not have fans at games? Hmmmm

I'm just saying that common sense tells you it is easier to rebreathe some one else's air indoors than it is outdoors. That is not difficult to understand.

Sure and while we're at it let's make sure that every single voter provides documentation that they are eligible to vote so that way EVERY LEGAL VOTE counts....don't you agree?

Indonesia and Malaysia are very conservative. Thailand is more easy going. Singapore is cool as well, but expensive and the people there aren't as happy. There are some places that I haven't been to, but most of south east Asia is welcoming of westerners, as long as you don't make a drunken ass of yourself. Bali is absolutely beautiful. The food is the best in Thailand.

dude you are so right. i've lived through so many different presidents with almost no impact on my life. people get so crazy about nothing. the system is set up so changes can only be incremental. no one's life will change on November 5th. you wake up and go to work just like before. LOL at everyone who tries to scare others. those people are the most scared people in the world. scared of a shadow that never comes
Just pull your money out of the market then you’ll be fine.

So you're not insulting your fellow poster when you say they are the reason the world hates America? (all the while knowing that's a false narrative)
