Since 2006 based on Rivals Top 250 NU has signed only 2 DE's and 1 DT. The two DE's were McMullen and Ankrah. The lone DT was Peat who never played. If NU is ever going to be relevant again one of the many things that needs to be turned around is better recruiting at the DE and DT position. As we saw last night defense gets you to the National Championship game which in reality has always been the case. Riley has been around a long time and one would think he would understand that.

I bet you can go even farther and add the high 3 stars there and see how those worked out too.

Could prob do this for most positions. When we're know as "kicker U" that's not a good thing.

Or maybe he just gained 250 lbs once he got to Lincoln? 250th on the team in tackles during his career? 250 Big Macs in a week?

The 250 number is in there somewhere.

can't hardly blame him if that's what he wanted to do and no one seemed to mind.

Khalil Davis was a 4 star Rivals 250 player I think.

Alabama offered DeShaun Neal (SP) at DE.

Khalil Davis was a 4-star, but I don't think he was Top 250, 247 actually had Carlos as a 4-star. It's like they had to pick only one.

I remember Oklahoma and Michigan recruiting Neal, but don't remember Alabama after him.

Not trying to prove you wrong...but I read it in an article and was surprised:

So Daishon Neal is Actually a Five-Star Recruit or Close
OMAHA — After Daishon Neal officially chose Nebraska over Michigan, Oregon, Oklahoma, Iowa and a host of late suitors, Neal got a phone call from a number of schools trying to flip him at the last minute, including one from Alabama.

If this is the case...Mr. Neal has a ton of work to do in the offseason in order to live up to the "hype". Winking

Wow, I guess I missed that article. I had very high hopes for Neal. He is still young, but not being able to get on the field with the DE's we played this year isn't encouraging.
