I'm not saying beating Wisconsin is going to be easy, but I think as long as we don't beat ourselves, we have a pretty good shot. Their win over LSU, while big to start the season, isn't looking like quite as big of a deal right now. LSU was a top 10 team, and is now not even ranked. Then they dominated a mediocre Akron team, then barely squeaked out a win versus a bad Georgia State team, and now they beat a highly ranked Michigan State team.
But how good is Michigan State really? They were another top 10 ranked team, but they got there mostly by virtue of where they started the season; 12th in the AP and 11th in the Coaches. They struggled against Furman at home, who is now sitting at 0-4; and stayed 12th in the AP but jumped to 8th in the Coaches. Then they had a bye week, and because of little movement right around them, stayed in the same spot in both polls. Then came their big game against #18 Notre Dame, a game they were mostly picked to lose, and they won, jumping them to 8th in the AP and keeping them 8th in the Coaches. Now, however, that "big win" against Notre Dame doesn't look like much either, as Notre Dame now sits at 1-3.
Also, while Wisconsin won pretty big, 30-6, that makes their total performance look a little more dominating than it really was. One of those TDs was a fumble return, another came after starting at the MSU 28 because of an INT, and another came from 5-yards out after a mishandled punt snap. I'm not saying Wisconsin doesn't deserve credit for those, but in the end, all but one of their TDs came as a direct result of mistakes made by MSU, if we don't make huge mistakes, we should have a good chance. Wisconsin also only had 317 yards of offense, so it's not exactly like they ran all over the field on them. Plus, Nebraska's offense is better than MSU's.
