Bucky still hasn't seen an offense like ours We have a better offense then Sparty.. Last year game which we should have won showed me we can beat them if we play like we did against Oregon..

we will see how Bucky does against Harbaugh Meechicken team.

their qb looks pretty good, I think they ran all over us last time. it was like we were playing a old Nebraska team.

no disrespect, but, i will worry about illinois right now.
no problem, I understand the one game at a time mentality (which is wise). wisconsin and ohio state just look like problem areas so I tend to focus on them.

Wisconsin scored twice on defensive TDs and also set them up on the 5 after a bad snap from a punt. Yes, they won handily, but remove those 21 points and you can see it was a closer game than the score.

I'm not saying beating Wisconsin is going to be easy, but I think as long as we don't beat ourselves, we have a pretty good shot. Their win over LSU, while big to start the season, isn't looking like quite as big of a deal right now. LSU was a top 10 team, and is now not even ranked. Then they dominated a mediocre Akron team, then barely squeaked out a win versus a bad Georgia State team, and now they beat a highly ranked Michigan State team.

But how good is Michigan State really? They were another top 10 ranked team, but they got there mostly by virtue of where they started the season; 12th in the AP and 11th in the Coaches. They struggled against Furman at home, who is now sitting at 0-4; and stayed 12th in the AP but jumped to 8th in the Coaches. Then they had a bye week, and because of little movement right around them, stayed in the same spot in both polls. Then came their big game against #18 Notre Dame, a game they were mostly picked to lose, and they won, jumping them to 8th in the AP and keeping them 8th in the Coaches. Now, however, that "big win" against Notre Dame doesn't look like much either, as Notre Dame now sits at 1-3.

Also, while Wisconsin won pretty big, 30-6, that makes their total performance look a little more dominating than it really was. One of those TDs was a fumble return, another came after starting at the MSU 28 because of an INT, and another came from 5-yards out after a mishandled punt snap. I'm not saying Wisconsin doesn't deserve credit for those, but in the end, all but one of their TDs came as a direct result of mistakes made by MSU, if we don't make huge mistakes, we should have a good chance. Wisconsin also only had 317 yards of offense, so it's not exactly like they ran all over the field on them. Plus, Nebraska's offense is better than MSU's.

Still think we go into the final two weeks with Iowa, Nebraska, Minny, and Wisky with a shot. Long year...all four have warts, all four have flashed. Wisky has played the most formidable schedule...the other not so much yet. Oregon was a blast, but a bit of fools gold IMO

Amazes me how some look ahead....in the big ten you never look ahead...one week at a time. We should win the next three but good grief coming off a 5-7 year we don't deserve to look ahead.

When this team doesn't show up Fresno and Wyoming were in the games until we woke up and executed.

Now that we're all focused on Illinois let's beat the crap out of them and work out all frustrations from last year on them

How do they beat us?? Our offense keeps improving.. We have 3 really good running backs. Our TE is hard to cover.. Also receivers get open all the time.. then you have to worry about tommy running it.. Our D will get penetration. Dont see them doing hurry up offense.. They have a young qb and our db's can and will intercept his passes.

Agree with what you say about our offense. Not so sure about our defense though.

I think this one really comes down to the basics. Stop the Wisconsin run (which has been revived lately with Clement and the jet sweep) and make the freshman QB beat you with his arm. If he's on the money and beats you through the air, you tip your cap and move on. Wisconsin is breaking in a new kicker and he's not that dependable, so making them move through the air will likely lead them to struggle to sustain drives.

Offensively, you simply cannot gift them points. Cut down on the turnovers, but also don't be afraid to pass the ball. I might suggest allowing Tommy to throw higher percentage passes with curls, slants and quick outs to our steady receiving corps. Yes, Nebraska will need to run to keep Wisconsin honest, but Nebraska cannot expect to run up and down the field. The passing game will need to be productive enough to sustain drives. Sometimes a drive with 2 first downs and a punt will be completely fine.

Special teams is where this game may be decided. Nebraska has a decisive edge when it comes to field goals and likely a disadvantage when it comes to the punting team. Kris Brown needs to be nails and probably contribute 3 field goals for the Huskers. The punt team simply needs to avoid disasters. No fake punts, no blocked punts - just try to net 30-35 yards punting and we'll call that a success. The wildcard would be a special performance by one DPE. If he can take one to the house or even just flip a field from a good punt return that can also be the difference.

Going to be a fun game with a loud opposing crowd.
