How do we beat ohio state?

This Ohio State team is a bit of a mystery. They looked all-world dismantling OU on the road, but they've found some cracks in close games to Indiana, Penn St (loss) and Northwestern.

In the later games, the O line has been leaky and TJ Barrett has been pressured resulting in an inconsistent offense. So we will need to get a steady push up front.

Offensively, I think a similar game plan to the Wisconsin game is the right call, but of course will need to be better executed. 12-31 with 2 picks won't cut it.

This is a game Nebraska should lose, but is also a game they can win if they get a few breaks.

NO TURNOVERS. Run the ball, stop the run. Make Barrett beat you by playing quarterback i.e. throwing the ball (you could say the same about Armstrong).

Isn't OSU the youngest team in the country? Stop the run and BEAT up JT Barrett. they are an option team and he's the FB/QB. Beat him up and of course get penetration early and you win the game. Their passing game is not clicking. Why do I think that is on Beck?

Make tackles. Dedrick Young and Marcus Newby both missed a tackle in the hole on two big zone read plays that #23 had (one on 3rd and 10 when they were on their 3 yard line - Young missed the tackle and the other one was the run in Overtime that Newby missed). Guys are in position but missed tackles.

Good Tommy also needs to show up.

Barrett don't just fling up passes, he usually takes care of the ball. He is much better than Armstrong.

Nebraska will need all areas to play well to gain a victory. Running, passing, few penalties, no turnovers, special teams and solid defense. In other words, a full on team effort on all fronts. Now tell them sum bitches to go out there and get it done! That is all.

We certainly can win. Indiana and Wisconsin exposed The Ohio St and Penn St exploited OSU and NW had success. 3 of the 4 the QB had great success running the QB at em. Wisconsin would've won had they had a mobile QB. Look what Penn St did with theirs and they won. those QB's aren't even in the same galaxy as Armstrong when it comes to running it and he will do great damage with his legs to the Bucks. The Blackshirts will be just fine against them. By the way Wiscy's D is the best we will face the rest of the regular season until and if we play Michigan. From what I've heard, the team isn't down they're pissed off.

1. Yes. Cethan Carter will play. - If he plays vs. Wisconsin, I think Nebraska wins that game.
2. Need to score on Special teams at least ONE TD. - YOu have to steal points that way to win vs. a top 10 team on the road.
3. Don't give up the big play on defense. Ohio State is struggling to drive the field, and their youth isn't used to "street fights" in the Big Ten.
4. Put Barrett on the ground.
5. Run Tommy 15 to 20 times. - If he doesn't carry the ball that much, you are wasting his skill set.

It really bothers me that NU pays a coach $450,000 a year and so far this year we can't get DPE more of a chance to break one..

I hope you're right. I think that's the only way we beat Ohio State. Angry and pissed off we have a chance. Down and emotionally drained from the OT loss and we're doomed. I think it'll be a great game just like the last one. Hopefully we can find a way to steal the W this time.

How bout we do like every other team, and give our QB some easy throws to get in rhythm...and remember he is only 6 ft tall.

But our receivers have to get seperation...that has not been talked about on this board....the lack of that....watch the replays...there was rarely an open receiver.....I was like he is definitely throwing a pick today...cause he can't help but try and makes plays.....part of the reason we love and hate Tommy.

it will really depend on your D, you've gotta stop the run or they will simply be "Ohio State" all day long. Not sure you have talent in the front 7 that Wisky, PSU, or even NW had. You don't have near the speed to contain them if they get to the 2nd level.

You might try and hide Tommy A, take the game out of his hands.. let him make his bones running--you don't want him throwing against any D backfield with a pulse. Be curious to see you guys when you get locked in with a QB that can run the team like Riley wants. Just wonder why you guys stuck with Tommy this long?

Yes, poor us. We are clearly not as good as NW or Wisky.

From what little I've seen of OhSU. Sometimes they'll line up their DL to give up containment on the OL's right side (and the DE will make his move to the inside). Their DB's at times have quite a bit of not-so-incidental contact.

So, pregame with ref, pull out one of the more unusual plays with bunched receivers. Ask the ref what constitutes pass interference, ask if PI will be called if those requirements are met. May piss em off, but maybe they'll call PI then (hopefully doesn't backfire). Feed em some runs to the left, and then RPO or counter to the right for chunk plays. Not much of a recipe, but then again I'm far from an expert.

But I agree, wisconson has defiantly been the better team then Nebraska, in recent history

I think we'll need a special teams or defensive TD - something that results in a 14 point swing.

NU seems to have 'shortened' a lot of games this year...limiting possessions either by grinding out long drives or forcing opponents to take 10 plays to either attempt a FG or punt.

So if NU can prevent OSU quick strikes and get a big break that swings points - they can win this.

Northwestern sucks....lol..hell we fumbled 14 points away...and still handled them easily at their place....lmao...Ohio St apparently doesn't have the athletes that Penn St does either....lmao
