I really only remember 4 players with turnover issues, dan, buck, abdulah, and armstrong.
Of these 4..only abdulah seemed to fix it. what did they do? what did they say to him?
Because he fumbled a bit when he started but cleaned it up a lot by the time he was a senior.
In the NFL he is fumbling a bit, but I suspect if his body holds up he will correct it.

I ask this because from what I read, they won't bring in any juco or transfer qb who would hurt armstrong's ego.
So, it seems the only thing we can hope for is to fix the interceptions. Which are just plain killing us.
Without them, we would probably be looking pretty good this year.

How do you hold a player accountable? You bench his ass for someone who might do a better job. We don't really have that option so it would be silly to avoid other players because of egos. Some players just don't fit the role and cant be corrected.

I always think the worn footballs Martinez liked to use had something to do with the fumbling issues.

Actually they haven't by that much. If I'm doing my math correctly he had 24 fumbles in college out of 944 touches including carries, receptions and returns. This is about 2.5% or 1 in 39 touches. In the NFL he's fumbled 4 times and has had 151 touches. This is about 2% or 1 in 38 touches.

Well, hell, if you're going to do math and all...
In Crouch's Heisman season, he had 10 interceptions on 189 attempts. This year Armstrong had 16 interceptions on 383 attempts. Eric threw a pick once out of every 18.9 attempts. Tommy threw a pick once out of every 23.9 attempts. That 2001 team also average 1.2 fumbles per game, compared to 0.8 fumbles per game for 2015. Overall, the 2001 team averaged 2.1 turnovers per game, while 2015 averaged 2.2 turnovers per game.

Other qb comparisons on picks/attempt:
Jammal Lord (1/17 in 2002, 1/22 in 2003)
Joe Dailey (1/16.3 in 2004)
Beau Davis (1/2 in 2004) ...because, hey, the back-up has to be better, right?
Zac Taylor (1/35.8 in 2005, 1/48.9 in 2006)
Keller (1/32.5 in 2007)
Ganz ( 1/21.7 in 2007; 1/40.8 in 2008) hopefully Armstrong can make this kind of jump
Zac Lee (1/30.2) in 2009
Martinez (1/28 in 2010, 1/36 in 2011, 1/30.7 in 2012, 1/55 in 2013; ) not nearly as bad as I would have assumed, but he also tended to have issues with fumbling if I recall, and that last season was on limited appearances.
